Ok. No facilities on land. Toilet on board which helped. Only company with life jackets. Too many other companies looking for Dolphins at same time. Staff very good.

We had a fantastic day with Dolswim, greeted by a friendly smile from Vic & given some safety/lifejacket advice, we also had a talk about what the procedure was going to be for the day. The chance to swim with dolphins is very special, Dolswim's policy of only going into the water two at a time is very professional in our eyes, this allows Vic to keep a safe eye on the people he is with, other boats/companies have 10-12 people going into the water all at once, & nobody seems to count the people getting back on there boat. I agree it does seem like a lot of boats are chasing the dolphins at times but if the dolphins were unhappy they are able to swim away, better to have the experience with wild dolphins than ones kept in a pen. We were also lucky to see wild sperm whales & Dolswim were very aware/careful not to distress the whales, finishing the day by floating along side a pod of 6 whales. Thank you Dolswim for an awesome day. Tony & Kirsteen.

Dolswim is highly recommended if you're visiting Mauritius at some point. We were able to swim near a pod of dolphins and were guided excellently by the staff. They provided some GoPro photos and videos of us with the dolphins, at a very reasonable price. Not recommended if you get seasick, as we were out there for three hours just for five minutes in the water! However, this was great, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

It has nothing to do with the tour company. It is the whole activity of "chasing" the dolphins, regardless of which tour company. We went on a normal day and there were at least 10 speedboats, from different companies, some quite crowded, some just a few tourists on board. There were just three of us on the boat, plus the leader. He was very helpful and took me by the arm at all times as I couldn't swim fast to "chase" the dolphins (wonder how many tourists can.) All I saw was murky green water. I guess the water is fresh but I really couldn't see anything and I didn't want to slow down our group (and I was not enjoying it anyway because I could not see anything in front of me so got a bit uneasy.) So I got back on the boat so the leader could take my husband and my grown up kid and they both said they did briefly felt the dophins swam by them or caught a glimpse of the magical creatures. As for me after boarding the boat again, I honestly saw more dolphins here and there, and quite a number of swimmers too. As soon as somebody yelled, There! All the speed boats would electrically speed towards that new direction. As you are reading now, you could image the smell of gas from the speed boats, the noise pollution from their engines, and the danger of the swimmers still in the water among all the quick moving speed boats trying to fight for the best new position near the moving dolphins. The whole scene in front of me just reminded me of Titanic (the last part of the movie, as you can imagine, not the cheerful beginning.) I am sure the tour company tried their best to make it a good experience but it was the idea of so many speedboats chasing the dolphins.......is it good for the dolphins? Of course, the poor creatures come back every day BECAUSE obviously somebody (may be tourists, or maybe somebody else) would secretly throw some food in the water. Even nobody dumps food to lure them, and even the dolphins really enjoy the Encounter with People, it is quite unlikely the dolphins will get injured or killed by the speedboats. But what about the amateur swimming tourists?

I read very good reviews about this tour operator that it would be more ethical and would really not disturb the dolphins in their natural habitat... However, the information given is misleading. They say they only send 2 people to swim at a time. But they do not mention that they operate at the same time 6 boats!! So it's actually about 10-12 people on average from their boats harassing the dolphins. The day we went, there were about 14 boats in total. About 6 or more were from Dolswim... Sadly for bout 2 hours +, they were all circling the group of dolphins on and on again...So each tourist could get 2 (or even 3 opportunities) to swim with the dolphins... In my opinion, would be much, much better to offer only one swimming opportunity, that would minimise the harassing of the dolphins... I understand that they couldn't any longer sell their tours at such a price, but it should not be about the money. They market themselves as being different than the other tour operators, but in our experience, they were literally the same as the others, or worse... The other operators would not send 6 boats at a time from the same company!! If you ready care about the environment and about wild-life, maybe this tour is not for you...

Tolles Erlebnis.

Impressionnant, extraordinaire, magique... On recommande absolument.
