This iconic Transylvanian castle is an incredible example of Gothic architecture in this region of Europe. With the knowledgeable guide, you will discover every corner of the castle and learn the history and legends of the Castle, developed over 500 years.
Throughout the castle, prepare to walk up around 100-200 stairs and a total of 1-2 miles throughout your tour. If desired, enjoy 15 minutes of free time for souvenir shopping or buying snacks at the shops near the castle.

Stop At: Cetatea Alba Iulia, Calea Motilor, nr. 5A, Alba Iulia 510134 Romania
Next, we'll be on your way to Alba Iulia to begin the next stage of the journey. We will visit the Citadel of Alba Iulia, a Vauban fortress where we'll discover 2 millennia of Romania's history walking on the alleys and squares inside. In the citadel, we will visit the Orthodox Church and Catholic Cathedral as well as the Roman ruins. We will admire the imposing bastions and ravelins of the fort as well as the beautifully carved Baroque-era gates. Our guests will have another 15 minutes of free time to grab a coffee or browse the souvenirs in the main square of the citadel. During your time in Alba Iulia, the guests can also choose to stop for lunch (at own expense) and choose from an array of restaurants that are serving both Romanian and international food.

On the way back to Sibiu, we will detour through the traditional villages located at the foothills of the mountains near Sibiu. The first village will be Sibiel, a charming rural settlement that kept its traditional architecture and pastoral character unspoiled.
Stop At: Rasinari, Rasinari, Sibiu County, Central Romania, Transylvania
We will continue our ride in the Transylvanian countryside passing through Orlat, Poplaca and Rasinari. Before reaching the village, we will stop on the hill where a beautiful panorama of the village and the Carpathian mountains opens up. We will be able to see the lofty ridges of the Fagarasi mountains or the forested peaks of the Sibiu mountains

My best friend and I booked this tour and had the pleasure of having Adela as our guide. She was super friendly and kind. It felt more like being out with a local friend showing off their country rather than with just any tour guide. Adela is very knowledgeable too so it was great learning from her while having fun conversation. I would absolutely recommend this tour and Adela to anyone.

Florin is a great, professional guide. We explored the Dacian site at Sarmizegetusa Regia and the Corvin Castle on one day and hiked in the Carpathian mountains on another. He helped us to figure out what to prioritize during our tours as well as he found a hike that was aligned with our skill levels. We will definitely utilize Florin as a guide in our next trip to Romania.

We did two fantastic tours with Mr. Ionescu (Corvin Castle and Sighisoara + fortified churches). He's extremely professional, punctual, knowledgeable, patient and passionate about his country and culture. I highly recommend him and his services if you plan to be in Sibiu or other parts of Transylvania. By the way, Transylvania is awesome, so much to do and see.

Florin is very intelligent and insightful. We were curious to learn while we were on the road to corvin castle and he filled the journey with the fascinating history of Romania and how it came to be. very kind, humorous tour guide with a great knowledge of the area. I would go on another tour especially if Florin was the guide!

I did expect more then history of the Castle , then art , need also to be lock better after. Some places whose in the poor conditions.

Recently returned from a trip to Sibiu and this tour was the main highlight of the trip.
Florin was exceptional both with his knowledge and his personality.
He was able to put everything into historical context.
The castle was not crowded and we were able to take our time walking around, Alba Lilia also well worth the visit.
We enjoyed the trip so much that we booked Florin for another days outing to a monastery outside of Sibiu. Again would highly recommend.

Fantastic tour. Florin was knowledgeable and patient with our questions. He even surprised us with a detour through the Romani neighborhood of Alba Iulia after we showed interest in seeing their unique architecture. His theories about Corvin castle a particularly fascinating view of what would have been an otherwise boring walk. I’d absolutely do another tour with him next I’m in Romania!

This was a fantastic tour with a fantastic guide. Florin was one to the best, most knowledgeable, and most thoughtful guides I have ever encountered in my travels from China to Peru. This was a private tour, and that was an excellent choice because we were able to see things at our own pace. We first went to Alba Iulia, an Austrian castle constructed on the ruins of a Roman citadel. Some of the Roman ruins are still visible. The castle is extremely beautiful, with two lovely churches - an orthodox church built in the 20th century of the coronation of KIng Ferdinand and Queen Maria, and a Catholic church started in the early 13th century. Both have their own style and are well worth visiting. Just walking around the castle is also a beautiful experience.
We then headed to Corvin Castle, which is a majestic building that fits all the fairy-tale stereotypes of a medieval castle, right down to torture chambers with the implements of torture on display. Unfortunately, we encountered some rain while we were at the castle, but it ended in time for us to take some great pictures of the whole castle on the way out. We had lunch as a nice restaurant near the castle.
After this, we drove though beautiful countryside and several Romanian villages, with Florin explaining the features of each one. Finally, we stopped at a lovely country spot for some pictures (see photos) before returning to Bucharest.
It was really a great tour and is highly recommended. Better than 5 stars.
