The tour was very basic. We visited 2 eateries and the time space between the 2 was too close so didn't enjoy the last sandwich of which we only asked for half and shared. A bit disappointed as I didn't feel it was value for money.

Georgio was a fabulous guide! We felt like we were walking through Florence with a friend! He is very knowledgeable and fun! Oh my goodness, he took us to a marketplace where we had sangria while walking around looking at all the veggies and the meats and fish! Telling us all the stuff about the way they live and grocery shop. We stopped into a small coffee shop for an espresso and a plate of cookies. We stood up at a window and were tried fried mozzarella balls among a boat of other goodies! We went to a very fun pub where we had a bottle of wine and a HUGE antipasto board! We walked across the bridge where all the jewelry shops are. We did several other stops along the way. Topped the whole day off with gelato at a tiny gelato place three people could fit in to order! Georgio also knew a lot about America so that made it interesting to show us comparisons, etc. He had some really great information for us on just living in Florence. Told us a lot about Rome that we were visiting next. Florence...Beautiful city, wonderful, wonderful tour! Georgio, thank you so much for such a wonderful day! M, G, J & J (three Okies and an Arizonan! lol) I highly recommend this tour! Request Georgio and you'll have the best time!

This tour was very disappointing. We have been on many food tours where each tasting was in a different location. On this tour we were supposed to have six tastings. We were taken to only three places. They were all food stands. Contrary to the pictures in your listing we were never able to sit at a table. The first place was a fried food stand. We had four small varieties of fried food. We were not aware that this counted as four different tastings. Next we went to a sandwich stand. It was suggested to us that we share a sandwich This seemed okay as we thought there would be four more stops. There was only one more stop for gelato. Although the guide was pleasant and personable this did not make up for the lack of food. The tour was extremely disappointing. We summarize it by saying caveat emptor.

From start to finish this was an excellent tour. Elizabetta took us to food shops, cafe and a bar which had we not been with her, we would have passed by. Every tasting was superb, we had choices and all the owners of the venues were very welcoming and friendly. The walk from venue to venue was filled with historical stories and insights into life in Italy today. Would give 10 stars to this tour if we could.

Christy was a great guide, taking us to places where the locals eat and shop as opposed to the touristy hype of the Duomo area. Her choices for wine, eats and sweets were excellent and her descriptions and stories of the area and its history were fascinating. Her stories were so compelling that we even got up enough nerve to try the lampredotto sandwich at one of our stops. Made from the fourth stomach of the cow, we were a little leary at first but it turned out to be delicious. Tender and meaty, very similar to a sliced roast beef sandwich with gravy. Thanks Christy for a fantastic outing. We highly recommend her tour.
