We were throughly impressed with this tour! Hugo was the best tour guide. We saw the most beautiful places and enjoyed the day while in Port on a cruise. Hugo made sure we were back to the ship in plenty of time. I enjoyed the lunch and the tea plantation the most

We had a great time on this tour. Highlights included incredible views, swimming at Furnas and the delicious Cozido lunch. Our guide Hugo was knowledgeable and thoughtful, bringing umbrellas for the rain, ensuring my wife’s gluten free needs were met and providing informative details about each site. We highly recommend it.

We took two different tours during our stay in San Miguel with this company, and we were so happy that we chose them. We had Hugo and Bruno as tour guides on two separate days, and they were both amazing. Their immense knowledge of the Island was beyond remarkable. They were fun loving and enthusiastic and their boundless personal energy made the tour even more enjoyable. We loved our experience and highly recommend them, it's an experience I will never forget!

We took two tours, with Hugo and Bruno as our guides. They made us feel like we were old friends. Both are very knowledgeable about the history of their island and enthusiastic about showing visitors the wonderful places to see.

Got to see many great views of this beautiful island. Lunch was a neat experience & delicious! Pick up, drop off at lodging very convenient& on time. Plenty time provided to soak in thermal pools & explore the lovely gardens. Guide was very nice, but offered little info unless asked, & we would have appreciated more explanation about the next stop on itinerary, most of group did not speak English & guide often talked with them so we ended up feeling like we were missing out on information.

I would highly recommend Hugo. He has been in the travel business his whole life and is very knowledgeable. We enjoyed touring the Tea Factory, hot springs , food cooked in the ground lunch, and drinking from the various natural springs. Hugo was able to answer every question we asked. He seemed to know people everywhere we went

Very informative guide, beautiful scenery. The only problem was that the tour company did not inform me the day before that they were coming or the time they would pick us up. They picked us up 15 minutes late since they picked someone else first. I really didn’t know if they were coming. A simple text is easy in this day and age.

A great overview of the island of Sao Miguel.
The stunning vista of the coastline, the roiling green pasture land and forested area. We stop at the CHA CORREANA tea plantation which has been in business nearly 150 years. We learned how the tea leaves are processed. We continued up to rim of the caldera. I never expected what Furnas Valley had in-store for us. The view puts into perspective it's immense size and that the town of Furnas is located with in a caldera which spanses over 14 km at its widest point. Next to the town is a large lake and a series of thermal vents that are used as ovens to cook the local traditional meal. Cooked in a large pot, consistenting of layer of beef, pork, vegetables and sausage the pot is covered then lowered into the vent, where it cooks for several hours...made for an amazing lunch.
The picturesque town of Furnas is surrounded by hot spring, steam vents and in some areas the smell of sulfur. You can fill your water bottle with fresh spring water which is naturally carbonated. We ended the tour with a drive to the south coast to watch the sun set.
The highlight of the tour was our driver and guide Hugo. The knowledge and passion he has for Sao Miguel is what made this day an experience that I will always remember and share with my friends.
