Laura is a French Creole plantation that was run by four generations of French Creole women.

St. Joseph Plantation was a wedding gift from her father Valcour, who was one of the wealthiest men of his time.
Stop At: Oak Alley Plantation, 3645 Highway 18 Great River Road, Vacherie, LA 70090-7079
Here you will spend about 3 hours on the plantation grounds exploring a national historic landmark. This historic site is dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history its inhabitants left behind. With an emphasis on its time as a working sugarcane plantation, visitors are invited to experience the exhibits, walk under the iconic Allee of Oak Trees, and tour the big house. You will have the opportunity to have lunch at the restaurant or deli. You can spend a few moments in the gift shop, at the bar, or just sit under the many oak trees on the plantation. Then you will board back on the bus and take a 35-minute ride up the highway for a swamp tour.

Once we arrive at Cajun Pride Swamp Tours, you will board a pontoon boat to take a 90-minute tour through the swamp where you will learn about the many species of wildlife residing there. You will have the opportunity to take plenty of pictures of the moss-draped Cypress trees in their majestic beauty.
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
Pass By: Lake Pontchartrain, New Orleans, LA
To close out the day, you will take a 45-minute ride back to the city on the Bonnet Carre Spillway Bridge overlooking Lake Pontchartrain before heading back to your hotel.

K is absolutely an amazing driver and guide. He takes care of everything on the trip, and all plans are very relaxed and organized. He is also very kind and knowledgeable local resident, and we always hear some interesting things on the road. The restaurants and attractions he recommends are also very great! Choose him, and you will get a real local New Orleans trip!

Kindrell was very knowledgeable about the history of New Orleans and kept me and my wife entertained with fun facts the whole time! My wife and I had an amazing trip. I would highly recommend this tour!

Kindrell was very nice and knowledgeable. He made our experience great! 10/10 recommend. It was a relaxing and fun day! Kindrell recommended the best Captain for the swap tour Captain Tom! Got to hold a baby alligator.

This was such an amazing tour! From start to finish the tour was excellent. Ms. Katrina, Kindrell’s wife, was so courteous on the phone and prompt in communication. The bus was clean and fully stocked with water. Kindrell was right on time for pickup and he was a fantastic guide! He was funny and knowledgable about everything we saw. The bus ride felt short because of his commentary. At the end he gave us all some great recommendations for food and we ended up eating at one of those places and loving it! We never felt felt rushed at all and the tour of the plantation and swamp were both excellent!

Kin was a great tour guide. With his years of experience from living in New Orleans and his years of being a guide, he made this tour an excellent experience. Kindrell was a fantastic driver and knowledgeable guide. His van was clean and comfortable, which made the drive out to the plantation go by quickly. He picked us up and dropped us off at our Airbnb, gave us local suggestions, and arranged our transportation to the airport later in the week for our larger group.

Where to begin? By far, the best day of our 5 day, family of 5 spring break vacation! From A to Z, we experienced 5 star service from our guide/driver Kin. From our 10, 11 and 16 years olds, and my husband and I, a big thank you for giving us a wonderful day and going above and beyond! We would, and will, absolutely come back for another trip and book again!

The tour was great! Mr. Kindrell picked us up directly from our hotel and drove us to the plantation first. He talks about the city, the surrounding area, and the other plantations. He knows spots along the way as well where we could see wildlife before even getting to the swamp tour. Once you get to the plantation and the swamp, he gives you a run down of what to expect and where to go so you are not lost. He also knows places to get great quality food in the city. Overall great experience!

Excellent tour. We got picked up from our hotel and dropped off. We had three hours at Oak Alley which was plenty to see and do everything as well as eat some lunch. We then went to the swamp tour where we saw a lot of little alligators. Kindrell shared a lot of interesting information along the way. We also got given water. There is charging ports in the car so bring your cables. Really enjoyed this small group tour!!

Mr. Kindrell was amazing! He gave us the best tour. He is very knowledgeable about the city and gave us some great information along the way to the plantation. He was also very knowledgeable about all of the other plantations along the way! The swamp tour was so much fun! I highly recommended Mr Kindrell and his services if you are in New Orleans!
