If you take the classic route, the itinerary will be as follows: start your day tour at Yehliu Geopark, the home to the numerous unique geological formations including the iconic "Queen's Head". This park is located in between oceans with the waves and winds surrounded, it's a great spot to fresh up yourself from the bustling City.

Feel spirited away in this decommissioned gold mining mountain town, originally built by the Japanese and now a maze of lanes and alleyways with rich history and culture.

Stop At: Shifen Waterfall, No.10 Gankeng Road, Nanshan Village, Pingxi, New Taipei 226 Taiwan
A 40 metre tall waterfall that creates a rainbow as it splashes into the lake, widely regarded as the most scenic in all of Taiwan.

Stop At: Shifen Old Street, Pingxi, New Taipei Taiwan
The famous sky lantern releasing spot, located in the Pingxi area, Shifen Old Streets is a collection of lanes and alleys in and around the Shifen railway station area. Originally built for transporting coal during the Japanese era, the station and track runs straight through the village.

Our tour guide was Steven and we wouldn't have it any other way! He was funny, courteous, knowledgeable and was a great driver! He showed us the ins and outs of the geopark, Jiufen, and Shifen. He made us felt comfortable and was always accommodating. Highly recommend!!

Our guide, Mr.Wang was great. Not only did he bring us to the locations he also would tell us history involved with the location. He was very nice and even cracked a few jokes. In highly recommend this tour!

We completely enjoyed our Day with Steven, our guide. He was friendly and knowledgeable. Really knew his history. Yehilu Geopark Was amazing and so fun to walk through. Jiufen Old Street Was so interesting, we enjoyed lunch and shopping there. We got wonderful photos at Shifen WaterfaLove You!.

Our day trip to the north of Taiwan was nothing short of amazing. James, our driver, picked us up on time from our hotel. James' English was really good and we appreciated his company as he shared historical insight.
The highlight of our excursion was the geopark with its mesmerizing rock formations. The beauty of the natural landscape left us in awe, making it an absolute must-visit destination.
Overall, we had a great day of learning and breathtaking scenery. Thanks to James' sharing and the beautiful northern Taiwan, it's a trip we can highly recommend.

We had a wonderful day with our driver/guide Roger. He was very knowledgeable about all of the sites visited and also made sure that we dodged the crowds at the Geo park. His English was excellent and he was more than happy to accommodate any requests that we had.
A bonus was he helped us try a heap of local street food on our tour ( it was like a food tour within a sightseeing tour) which we would not have done on our own.
His car was clean, roomy and comfortable with water provided.
I would highly recommend this day trip if you only have a few days in Taiwan.
Pickup and drop off was at our hotel as well.

Frank is our tour guy. He cover all the places and explains the history about the Yehliu Geopark, Ruifang district-Chongwen village. He recommends a restaurant with a good view & good food
Because of the rain, we didn’t make it to Jiufen instead he took us to the national museum & pick us up.
He speaks perfect English. If you plan to visit Taiwan , Taipei look for Frank.

We had such an incredible time! It was a clear sunny day, and while it did get a bit hot we still enjoyed our tour. We got to see and do everything that we wanted. All while being escorted by our very sweet, very kind and very knowledgeable tour guide, Steven!
All of the sites were worth the time, money, and hype. If you find yourself in Taipei you should book this tour! You won’t be disappointed.
