Itinerary
One-on-one and group Stained Glass Classes offered in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii with accomplished artists, Sheri & Doug Reynolds. Students will be amazed by the wide variety of the beautiful colors and textures of our glass. You will learn the basics of stained glass, including cutting, grinding, foiling and soldering. Classes include all necessary supplies and the best part is you get to take home a small finished sun catcher (stand not included). Our students really enjoy the personalized attention to create a memorable experience and explore their creative talents!

My husband and I were a little apprehensive about going to someone’s house on an excursion but Sheri and Doug made us feel more like old friends than strangers, invading someone’s home.
Before we arrived, Sheri communicated with us and had us select the pieces we were going to make. Upon arrival, we had the opportunity to choose exactly what colors, styles and textures of glass we wanted to use.
Sheri took us step by step through the stained glass making process and showed us so much patience as we learned. She assisted when needed but stepped back and let us create our one of a kind pieces.
In the end, we left with our absolutely perfect stained glass pieces that now hang on our bedroom window. Every morning I get to wake up to the sun streaming through our pieces and I’m reminded of our trip and our time with Sheri and Doug. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back when we get to Kona again.

What a great experience! I learned so much, and really enjoyed picking out my glass, and shaping it to fit the pattern. I am so pleased with my end result! My blue bird is hanging in my kitchen window

My family and I went to create stained glass with Big Island Stained Glass in May of 2024. Everyone in my group absolutely loved doing it! Sheri and Doug were very encouraging and very knowledgeable about the best ways to create your pieces. One person in my group is mentally disabled and he was able to create a piece, as both Doug and Sheri did a great job in helping him create something he would love. This activity is create for anyone and everyone and I HIGHLY recommend this activity. I will definitely be back to make something else.

My husband and I loved taking this class together on my birthday! Sheri is an insightful and artistic teacher—giving us an overview of her and her husband Doug’s journey in stain glass making. She advised us through each step, but gave us the freedom to find our own inner creativity. We learned a lot about stained glass, the Aloha spirit and look forward to coming back for another class!

You pick the piece, your glass, and they walk you through each step to help you get a beautiful stained glass piece in the end. Wonderful husband/wife team with a love and enthusiasm for the craft.

Sheri was great, engaging and knowledgeable. She kept the class on track and focused while allowing us to enjoy the experience. Our projects gave us a nice take home to remind us of the wonderful time we had visiting the big island. I definitely recommend this activity to those who enjoy being creative and learning ew things. Thank you Sheri.
PS: Doug was fun to interact with as well.

My friend and I signed up for this stained glass workshop on the Big Island of Hawai’i for fun. It was great. Sherri and Doug are natural teachers. Highly recommend!

Such a great experience. Got to think outside of the box and create a piece of art that is both beautiful and memorable. Sheri was knowledgeable when we asked questions about stained glass and patient with us while we were trying to grind the pieces down to the right size. I would totally come back and this class has sparked my interest in stained glass art!

Big Island Stained Glass has a wonderful studio for a hands on experience in making a stained glass creation. The choices for a first time project are excellent, and keep with the island theme. My friend and I chose to turn our creations into night lights. Why buy a souvenir from a shop when you can create one yourself! This is also a perfect activity to do with your out-of-town friends or relatives.
