Meet your guide near the formidable hulk of the Colosseum, the gigantic arena that drew Romans of all walks of life to watch violent fights between gladiators and beasts. Bypass the crowds and head straight inside, entering the Colosseum through a special gate once used by gladiators themselves. Walk right onto the arena floor—an area not usually accessible to the public—and learn about the harrowing events that took place here for entertainment's sake centuries ago.

Stop At: Palatine Hill, Piazza Santa Maria Nova, 53, 00186 Rome Italy
Spend a full hour exploring the rest of the Colosseum, from the ground floor up to the second tier, where you can see the Roman Forum from a distance before making your way across to Palatine Hill. You'll also get ahead of the crowds at this storied collection of ruins and listen to your guide rebuild ancient Rome from the ground up through captivating stories. Hear tales of war, politics, and betrayal, and get introduced to some of the ancient world's larger-than-life characters as you roam around the markets, roads, and temples where the empire's citizens once lived, played, and prayed.

Each traveler must present a valid passport or ID document that matches the name provided at the time of booking for successful entry to the Colosseum and Roman Forum. Name changes are not permitted.

Excellent tour with lots of information. Tour guide helped us understand life during the Roman Empire and the ongoing history of the sites after the Empire’s fall. I wouldn’t want to do these sites without a guide unless I had an excellent background for understanding them, and this tour is perfect for someone who wants the insider knowledge.

BEWARE! Website is misleading and DOES NOT honor their refund policy! Website clearly states cash refund if cancelled 24 hours before the start of the tour. When I tried to cancel , was told NO refund if cancelling 35 days before the tour. When I sent them a screenshot of their own website refund policy they said "its a misunderstanding..our aim is to always ensure clarity and it seems we have fallen short". No compensation whatsoever. What else are they lying about??? Obviously not a transparent or trustworthy company,

Flavia was a fantastic guide! Funny, witty and very knowledgeable with her degree in Archeology! The whole tour was thoroughly enjoyable! I highly recommend this tour and asking for Flavia. Her explanations and the history were superb!

Guide Franco was amazing, really knowledgeable and showed obvious passion for the subject and area. Although there were some delays due to new regulations for showing ID’s at entry, he still didn’t rush our tour and made sure we received the full experience. This was our first experience in Rome and therefore had no euros withdrawn from an ATM yet, wish we had so we could’ve tipped him.

The tour guide Manwel was superb. He was warm, friendly, charming and knowledgeable. He had a tough job to do as there were queues and he kept our attention throughout.
The Colosseum is truly magnificent and obviously a must see.
