Itinerary
Head over to Great Keppel Island for a day trip with Keppel Konnections, in conjunction with Great Keppel Island Hideaway & GKI Water Sports & Activities. Departing on the 9am ferry service over to the island, it's a short 30 minute join to the main beach on Great Keppel Island. Please note, there is no jetty on the island so the ferry pulls in, ramp goes down and you disembark straight onto soft white sand - you may get wet feet! Upon arrival, head towards the Hideaway sign (look for the hula girls on the logo) and you'll come to the GKI Watersports & Activities. This is where your choice of full day snorkel hire or 1hr SUP/kayak can be arranged. Carrying on up the sandy track, you'll come onto the Hideaway's lawn area - this is where your lunch and refreshment component are included, please note lunch hours are 11:30am-2pm. You departure from the island is 4pm.

Great day out. Ferries were on time and all the staff very friendly. Was great to take the dog over for the day.
Easy to access snorkelling equipment.

Great young crew running the ferry over and back.
Unfortunately the island itself is pretty run down. The lookout walk was poorly maintained and we couldn't see much when we got there.
The staff at the resort were very knowledgeable about tides for snorkelling and we had a great time swimming and snorkelling. The bar was relaxing for some drinks before our return ferry trip

The skipper and deckie were amazing , the water was a little rough but it was a smooth ride . We had an amazing day trip , very relaxing and enjoyable .

This was a great trip to snorkel on the southern Great Barrier Reef. Be prepared as there is some hiking, climbing and descending steep and rocky tracks in order to get to the best snorkelling spots though. Everyone was very helpful and we had clear instructions on how to get where we needed to be. The hike was fairly strenuous, but the snorkelling was fantastic and made it worth the effort. I would suggest you consider paying extra in order to get a boat tour/trip around the island in order to get more easily, and to more of the great snorkelling areas. Our package also included lunch and there was a good selection of great meals to choose from. Overall, an excellent trip to Great Keppel Island!

It was a great day out as a family, unfortunately the weather wasn’t fantastic so the waters weren’t as clear to no fault of anyone’s! The crew were great and so was the trip there and back. It’s definitely easy enough to find. Lunch was also great!! Be mindful with little ones (our youngest is 4). It’s ALOT of walking on sometimes steep ‘unmaintained’ tracks around the island. There’s no barricades or ropes so it could best little dangerous.
I also don’t love that you have to muck around filling out forms and collecting the gear on one side of the beach to then walk all the way to the other side of the beach to start your journey. Overall I do recommend just consider if taking young children.

From the start of the process of going to the return KK were great. Booking was with ease and no issues with changing times. Staff were always very helpful and polite. The captain and crew on board where great and worked well at looking after everyone, great teamwork, friendly and Professional. Highly recommend using KK for any of their services.

The staff were very friendly from the booking to the captain to the deck hands and the snorkel hire staff. The staff at the hut for the snorkel gear went the extra mile and despite being crazy busy and very hot they were polite. We walked to long beach and had a swim, then walked to monkey beach to snorkel and then on to shelving beach to snorkel again which was well worth doing all 3. Lunch was enjoyable and good value and we didn’t have to wait too long. The ferries were punctual and recommend the package deal. Dan and Ellie were awesome and made an effort to chat to us when they could. Thankyou
