Being in the Dame Sutherland theatre at the Sydney Opera House with friends from England made it a great experience

A perfect introduction to opera for my 21 year old daughter, an opera novice. The accompanist was funny and charming and his unpretentious, chilled approach set a wonderful tone for the whole event. Beautiful singing and even audience participation. Opera at the opera house pretty hard to beat.

Hearing wonderful music in Sydney Opera House was a memorable experience. The concert included lots of familiar music and we were left wishing it had lasted even longer. The four soloists from the Australian Opera Company were excellent, their accompanist was a wonderful pianist and very amusing compère too.

After chiming in the New Year with a spectacular fireworks display, some hours later, it was the opera's turn.. and they did not disappoint.
All five performers were terrific and had as forget 2023, hahaha. Loved the twist they presented for the whole 90mins, so it will be engaging for the casual opera fans. Liked the small anecdotes of our conductor to tie-in all the arias from different operas and that line he had at the end, was a good surprise. Would love to see it again, but next time with either a four or six piece orchestra, it would have that "ooommph!" hit.
Joan Sutherland Theatre, wow, a very nice and well cooled auditorium... minor quip is on the seat width, as it is a bit small for me, but it was not too uncomfortable.

This was great entertainment. The host was enthusiastic and knowledgeable in setting the context for each song and cleverly infused the performance with humour. The four singers were outstanding, with special mentions for classic hits such as Nessun Dorma, The Flower Duet, The Pearlfishers, and Habanera, which were all presented briliantly.

It was a pleasure to be inside the Opera house and enjoy the wonderful voices the singers had, conducted by a very nice pianist who always gave an introduction to the pieces that were sung.

Had great seats and loved the show, particularly the humorous comments from mine host.
Slightly disappointed with singer in red dress who seemed bored and who failed to engage with the audience

Loved the show as it was a great intro to opera. However getting the paper tickets was quite cumbersome as our name was not on the “list” and took awhile and a phone call to finally obtain them.

This was a terrific introduction to Opera. I most wanted to see and hear an event at the Sydney Opera House and we had little time. Our seats were excellent! Thank you for that. I feel fortunate to have gotten tickets thru Viator. It was easy to do and having the opportunity to cancel 2 days before the show was a huge incentive since we were not sure of our schedule
