Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Escaleras Electricas De La Comuna 13, Carrera 110, Medellin Colombia

Comuna 13 was the most dangerous district in Medellin only 18 years ago.

And is also the place where the first outdoor non-touristy electrical escalators in the world were installed. They were inaugurated in December of 2011 with a cost of 3,5 million dollars and was built to save more than 350 stairs in a very steep hill.

Besides the escalators, Comuna 13 is also one of the biggest street art district in Latin America.

Half of the neighborhood displays meaningful graffitis and you get the chance to learn all their meanings in this incredible Graffiti Tour with us.

Throughout the walk in Comuna 13 we invite you to try the traditional snacks from Colombia, if you are a foodie you will love the food.

Empanadas, Butifarras, Carimañolas, Aborrajado and more, all of them delicious and authentic.

In our walk we visit the view point, the new pathway full of graffiti and the slide built to honor a tragedy occurred in Comuna 13.

There is a lot of history to be heard at this tour.

Duration: 3 hours

Stop At: Piedra Del Penol, Highway El Penol - Guatape, Guatape Colombia

The drive from the fruits to the rock is around 35 minutes but is full of beautiful sceneries of kale plantations, onion, sugar cane, coffee, tomatoes and hundreds of mountains silhouettes.

As we drive we start telling you all the history of the rock: components, owners, when was it climbed and more interesting facts.

Once we get there you get the chance to climb up it. It’s 749 steps and 50 minutes approximately to go up and down.

Once you reach the top, you can stay up there for as long as you wish as you witness one of the most beautiful views you have ever seen.

This is not only our opinion but that of hundreds of tourists we have taken there.

At the top there are several shops where you can buy water, beer and many other items and sit down to appreciate the view of the lake, tiny islands and country houses.

Whenever you feel ready to start going down we'll be ready waiting for you to continue our adventure to one of the most colorful towns in the country: Guatape town.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Guatape, Guatape, Antioquia Department

The drive to Guatape from the rock is only 10 to 15 minutes.

At this town we take a fully narrated walking tour through the town's landmarks such as the church, main square, remembrance street, Zocalos Square and more.
Once the walking tour has concluded we take you to the best restaurant in town to have a traditional delicious lunch (not included in the tour) where you have more than 20 different options to try the local cuisine accompanied of a cold sangria or a craft beer.

After we finish our lunch and visit in this beautiful Guatape town we head back in our comfortable private car.

This is a tour full of good memories, lot of new learning and insights on the history, the urban conflict and the culture of this region that will leave you very satisfied.

This was one of the BEST tours my friends and I did on our trip to Colombia! Sara was amazing!! I cannot say enough great things about her… it feels like we made a life long friend with her. She was soo knowledgeable! We booked directly through Medellin Day Trips to ensure the local company got most of the money. No regrets! We miss Sara already. Just be ready to walk around a lot… so get comfy shoes. You’ll spend a lot of time in a car to drive places but Sara will tell you allll you need to know about Medellin. Highly highly highly highly recommend! If you get Sara … you’ll have won the jackpot!

The morning we spent in the Comuna13 in Medellin and our afternoon trip to Guatape were unique experiences of our stay in Medellin. Erika, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and provided excellent information about what we saw. Plenty of history and background info on the entire experience. Even though it was a full day, Erika allowed for reststops, shopping, and dining. We saw local culture such as artists, musicians, dancers, and venders. Highly recommend this tour, especially with Erika as your tour guide.

A full day of history and marvelous views. Erika was my guide for the day and was great company. She was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much about every detail we saw in Comuña 13 and Guatape. She even picked out a great place for lunch and helped me find the most unique poncho that I was looking for in Guatape. Climbing the rock takes a bit of effort with over 600 (narrow) steps, but the views are worth its Unforgettable experience and will definitely go again.

Last year we toured with Erika, said we would be back, and this year we did! We scheduled more tours this trip since we enjoyed the Coffee Farm and Guatape Tour so much previously. Over a few days, we went on the Food Tour, Graffiti and City tour, and Guatape and Flower Farm tour. Erika is truly amazing and was patient with all our questions and wanting to stop everywhere. We learned so much about each place we went to, and she knew great spots to stop along the way. Guatape was beautiful and there's definitely something to be said for walking around with someone who knows the stories of each mural and friendly locals. The car ride was easy and comfortable, lots of space and AC. Erika spoke perfect English and Spanish, she's very knowledgeable and passionate. We feel very fortunate to have had her as our tour guide and we can't wait to go back and take more tours!

This tour is a great option if you have just one day in Medellin. Sara was our tour guide, she is incredible and a really nice person. Sara explained to us everything about Medellin and the places that we visited; we had such a great time with her. We visited the Comuna 13 (Comuna and Graffiti Tour) and the beautiful Guatapé (Peñol and Zocalos Town). We also added as an extra the Metrocable tour, and it was a wonderful experience with nice views of Medellin. Andres answered all my questions before booking the tour and gave me valuable tips. I highly recommend this tour and Medellin Day Trips!
