Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: MedellinDayTrips, Carrera 27 27 180, Medellin 050011 Colombia

Colombia is the most diverse country in the world in fruit production as we grow over 430 fruits throughout our territory.

This is why we think we should take you to a fruit stand to try some of the most delicious ones.

In this short stop, we are going to visit a farmers' market so you can be in a non-touristy place. Once there we provide you different exotic fruits you probably didn’t even know existed, with intense sour or sweet flavors.

This is around a 20 minutes stop that is on the way to Guatape but our guests have loved it so far, so we are sure you are going to love it too.

It is also a good opportunity to stretch your legs after 1 hour of sitting in the car before we reach the coffee farm, our next stop.

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Penol, Penol, Antioquia Department

The drive from the fruits to the coffee farm is around 35 minutes but is full of beautiful sceneries of kale plantations, onion, sugar cane, coffee, tomatoes and hundreds of mountains silhouettes.

The coffee you enjoy each day has taken a long journey to arrive in your cup, with this complementary tour you get to know this amazing journey in detail.

Right before getting to the Guatapé rock we have the opportunity to visit a wonderful coffee plantation which is definitely  one of the most authentic tours you can do in Colombia.

Between the time coffee beans are planted, picked and purchased, they go through a typical series of steps to bring out their best.

The coffee production stages you will see are:
• Planting
• Picking  the ripen beans selectively
• Depulping
• Fermenting and washing
• Drying
• Millling
• Roasting

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Penol, Penol, Antioquia Department

After this memorable visit to the coffee farm we continue our journey to the Rock of Guatape (also known as Peñol).

As we drive we start telling you all the history of the rock: components, owners, when was it climbed up and more interesting facts.

Once we get there you get the chance to climb up it. It’s 749 steps and 50 minutes approximately to go up and down.

Once you reach the top, you can stay up there for as long as you wish as you witness one of the most beautiful views you have ever seen.

This is not only our opinion but that of thousands of tourists we have taken there.

At the top there are several shops where you can buy water, beer and many other items and sit down to appreciate the view of the lake, tiny islands and country houses.

Whenever you feel ready to start going down we'll be ready waiting for you to continue our adventure to one of the most colorful towns in the country: Guatape town.

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Guatape, Guatape, Antioquia Department

The drive to Guatape from the rock is only 10 to 15 minutes.

At this town we take a fully narrated walking tour through the town's landmarks such as the church, main square, remembrance street, Zocalos Square and more.

Once the walking tour has concluded we take you to the best restaurant in town to have a traditional delicious lunch (not included in the tour) where you have more than 20 different options to try the local cuisine accompanied of a cold sangria or a craft beer.

After we finish our lunch and walking tour in this beautiful Guatape town we head back to Medellin in our comfortable private car with a smile in our faces and full of good memories and probably some gifts for our family back home.

We had an incredible tour experience with Laura during our visit to Guatape. From the breathtaking views atop Guatape Rock to the charming streets of Guatape town and the immersive experience at a local coffee farm, Laura made every moment memorable. The day started with a visit to a fruit market and exotic fruit tasting, then we headed to Guatape Rock. Sara provided interesting historical and geological facts about this iconic landmark, making the ascent even more rewarding. The panoramic views at the top of the rock were breathtaking Exploring Guatape town was a delight. Laura guided us through its colorful streets, pointing out the unique and vibrant decorative panels that tell the story of the town's culture and history. Her knowledge of local traditions and her ability to connect with the community gave us a deeper appreciation of this picturesque town. The visit to the coffee farm was a highlight of the tour. At the farm, we met Miller who shared his extensive knowledge about the coffee production process, from bean to cup. His explanations were thorough and engaging, making the experience both educational and enjoyable. Tasting freshly brewed coffee right at the source was a treat, and Miller & Laura ensured we understood the effort and dedication that goes into every cup. Throughout the tour, Laura was warm, attentive, and professional. I highly recommend Laura & Medellín Day Trips to anyone looking to explore the wonders of Guatape. It was an awesome experience.

This was such a great day activity. Erica was an absolutely fabulous tour guide, extremely knowledgeable and fluent in English in Spanish, which was helpful for our group. She knows so much about every stop of the tour, it was extremely helpful to be able to ask her anything.

This was a great day trip! Laura was our guide and was so friendly and knew tons of people at all of our stops. Because it was a Sunday and more busy we went to Guatapé first to miss more of the crowds, which was great. The coffee farm was fun and the owner was super friendly and a bit of a jokester. The coffee was great and we walked away with 7 lbs of coffee along with some chocolates made with coffee as well. Were coffee people so it didn’t take a huge sales pitch. It was really nice being more one on one. I can’t imagine riding in the large tour busses through the narrow and windy roads there.

We did a full day tour with Laura and had a great time! It was on a Sunday so we stopped in Guatapé first to miss some of the crowds and went to the coffee farm after. It was really nice to be more one on one with Laura. I can’t imagine riding in the tour bus to Guatapé on the small roads!

We were so, so happy we chose to spend the day with Erika! Erika is a fantastic guide to Medellin. We had no idea that we’d have such a small group (it was just us!) so we got to make stops that interested us, choose where to eat, etc. We were only in Medellin for a short amount of time, but we got to see all of the highlights: a coffee farm, Guatapé, and hike the rock. A highlight was also stopping for local fruits, which was so unique. All the while, Erika kept us entertained and laughing! We cannot recommend Erika enough and highly recommend booking a tour with this group as they were so organized and thoughtful.

This tour was one of our favorite experiences during our trip to Colombia! Laura, our tour guide, made our experience on this tour better than we could’ve ever expected! From the moment she picked us up to every stop along the way she gave us so much information about the culture and history of each area. She was super knowledgeable and extremely professional but it also felt like a friend was guiding us around. I highly recommend the private tour option because Laura made us very comfortable and it felt like the tour was custom made for us. We didn’t have to rush on and off a tour bus with a large group, and we were able to spend more time in specific areas that we were more interested in. The coffee tour part of the experience was also the icing on the cake! Laura, you made our tour experience so memorable, thank you so much!

Our tour with Andres was one of our favorite parts of our time in Medellin. Our day began at 10am when Andres promptly picked us up at our hotel. We then began our drive to the coffee farm. Along the way we made a quick stop for coffee and tasting of some Colombian delicacies. Once we arrived at the farm we had an amazing tour where we saw each individual part of the coffee making process. At the end of the tour we got to try the coffee which was amazing. Afterwards we went to the Guatape rock. We didn't climb it since my wife was having some back issues at the time but it was still worthwhile. The views from the bottom were great. After the Guatape rock we visited the town of Guatape for an amazing lunch where we had a bandeja paisa (it wasn't included in the tour but it was very reasonably priced) After lunch we toured the city. It is a beautiful town with lots to see and do. At the end of the day we headed back to Medillin. The tour was a full 10 hours, but it was well worth the time. We learned a lot about Colombian coffee and the areas we visited. Andres was an excellent guide and we would highly recommend him.

My partner and I was looking for a tour that did it all. We wanted to see the rock and town of Guatape and visit a coffee farm. This was the only tour that offer all in one and it is private! The price is on the higher end compared to the other trips but when you do the break down (one tour for Guatapé and another for a coffee tour) It’s about the same and private! Also by our suprise we stoped at market and tried all the local fruit. Our tour guide was Sara! Words can not explain how amazing she was. It felt like we were traveling with a local celebrity. Everyone knew her and she knew all the best local spots and shops. Her English was amazing and vey knowledgeable able about everything and all the questions that we had! It is a must do when you are in Medellín.

The tour of Guatape and the coffee farm was amazing. Laura, our guide was very accommodating and incredibly knowledgeable. She was able to share her knowledge about the history of the area, the socio-economic complexities, cultural interests, and her general love for Colombia and Medellin. So far, this was my favorite day in Colombia. Sign up for this tour, you will love it.

What an amazing experience!! Our tour guide Laura was super knowledgeable, punctual, kind, and patient. Her English skills were outstanding and made it very pleasant for everyone in our family. We traveled with two adolescent children and we never felt the experiences were too much for them. We all felt very much included as an active participant of each activity in this tour. 10/10 for both the tour company and the tour guide. Ease and accuracy of communication were on point.
