Itinerary

Join us for a guided eco tour at Big Hickory Island in Bonita Springs. Choose a standard or CLEAR kayak or paddleboard. We'll paddle at a relaxed pace in search of dolphins, birds, and manatees while sharing local eco-system info.

We are open 7 days a week and promise to provide you with exceptional service so come on out and let us show you how easy it is to get out and have some fun on the water! Our paddling routes are some of the best in Southwest Florida and allow you to experience the mangroves trails and tunnels, the Gulf of Mexico, and the beautiful
Island beach! You will have the chance to be up close with marine life and it’s quite common to see dolphins, and sometimes manatees (summer).

We suggest you bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, bottled water, and water shoes.

CLEAR kayaks have a limit of 425 pounds per boat and a max of 250 pounds per seat. Our Standard kayaks have higher limits and track better. Clear kayaks are for 2 people so please book even numbers. We have HOBIE pedal kayaks if needed. Contact us if questions!

Minimum age is 3 years old. We have youth sized PFDs but suggest that parents provide a quality, fitted PFD for children under 50 pounds.

Great adventure for a family. We loved going through the mangrove tunnels and seeing a dolphin and lots of birds. Our guide Hannah was great, very knowledgeable and taught us about the local plants and animals.

Cameron was absolutely amazing. He knew so many things about the waters around you, shells, and random Florida history. I would definitely recommend

Our guided kayak tour with Mike was a blast. He was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife. We booked the clear kayaks hoping to see some marine life, but due to the windy weather the waves were a bit choppy and the water difficult to see through. If possible I recommend going on a clear calm day. The mangrove tunnels were incredible and the shelling beach was peaceful. If I ever find myself in the area, I would rent kayaks hereal again!

I enjoyed the kayaking, for the most part, but we got the clear kayak, and it was very flat bottomed, so not hydrodynamic as a regular kayak. Plus, we didn’t see anything of interest through the boat. Because of this, combined with the fact we are not avid kayakers, it was hard to keep pace with the group and had to work hard to do so. Consequently, it was very tiring. *Maybe this should be mentioned on the site so people can select their kayak wisely. . Also, some of the sections were very narrow and hard to maneuver through the mangroves, but it was an adventure! We were disappointed that we didn’t see any manatees, or dolphins, but I can’t fault anyone for that! I really enjoyed the guide’s educational tidbits regarding the ecology of the mangroves, and also birds and shells when we stopped for a break at a nice beach. 🐚

Hannah did a great job of keeping our entire family group (all 7 of us, ages 15-84) engaged and informed as we paddled our way through all of the beauty. She went out of her way to show us some unusual things, even reaching down and pulling something out of the water to answer a question we’d asked earlier. She was such a wonderful guide!
