Stop At: Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, Sawai Madhopur Road, Ranthambore National Park 322001 India
Ranthambore National Park is one of the most visited wildlife parks in India. Known for the best sighting of the majestic wild Tigers, the park is highly revered for its rising population of endangered tigers. The jungle excursion organized by the park authority in this park is the dream safari for the wildlife enthusiasts from any corner of the world. The Canter Safari and the Jeep Safari are the two types of forest safari authorized for the tourist to explore the beauty of the flora and fauna of the Ranthambore forest. Millions and millions of wildlife lovers and nature lovers used to visit Ranthambore to embark on the Canter Safari or Jeep Safari to experience the adventure of being in the natural home of the dangerous predators of the forest like Royal Bengal Tigers, Jungle Cats, Leopards and Striped Hyenas. Getting the unhindered sighting of these predators, especially, the majestic Tiger is the prime attraction of the Ranthambore forest.
The management of the Jungle safari in the Ranthambore National Park is solely administered by the park authority. There are two types of safari vehicles are allowed in the park - Canter and Jeep. The Canter is a 20 seater bus vehicle which is all sides open to provide the best viewing experience. The Canter Safari is organized in the two shifts - in the morning time and in the afternoon time. There are 20 Canters are allowed to take tourists in the park in one shift so a total of 40 Canters can enter the park for the safari in a day. The Canter safari is as comfortable as the Jeep for the wildlife sighting and sometimes even better in comparison to the Jeep as you can see much farther by sitting in a Canter than in the Jeep. Also, the safari duration and the safari route inside the park is same for the Canter Safari and Jeep Safari so there is no much difference in both the safari except the number of tourists in a vehicle.
The Ranthambore National Park is divided into the 10 zones for the tourism activity to make sure that various regions of the park get the equal tourist visit. Each Canter vehicle gets allotted a particular safari zone on each shift and has to move only on the tracks meant for the safari in that particular zone. The Canter safari vehicle is not allowed to change the zone and leave its safari track. However, there are enough safari tracks in any zone for the exploration of the wildlife and all the zones are more or less equal in the richness of the flora and fauna, and the chances of spotting a tiger are same in every zone as the regions of each zone is the tiger's territory and ruled by one or another tiger. The allotment of the ecotourism zone to the Canter Safari is done randomly by a computerized process by the forest officials at the time of entering the park. The zone once allotted to the Canter cannot be changed.

In March we booked the gypsy safari for £47 each, the following day we received a phone call to say there are no gypsy cars available but we can go on a bus instead which is £35 each. We were told that we would be refunded the difference although we have still not received this. We agreed to go on the bus as we didn’t want to miss out on the experience all together. We arrived there at 6am (which was the time we were told to be there) but the bus was over an hour late so by that time the sun had fully rose and it was bright outside, giving us less chance to see a tiger. We went to zone two and joined a queue of jeeps and buses trying to get a glimpse of a tiger that was apparently lying in the grass. I highly doubt there was a tiger there at all. We waited there for about an hour and a half before turning back to the base without seeing any tigers. The toilets there were vile I definitely wouldn’t recommend using them. Over all the experience was very disappointing, waste of time and definitely wasn’t worth £35 let alone the £47 that we’ve ended up paying!

Cancelled by the operatior the day before. Really disappointed. Tried to get me to take an alternative which I didn’t want.
Still waiting for money back. I feel I may have to go through my credit card for this as not responding to my messages. So frustrating. If the gypsy salari is important to you I suggest you book it elsewhere. This was the only reason we had travelled to this area in the hope of seeing the tigers.

Stay away from this!
After I read the last review on here I asked the tour operator to confirm our booking, and indeed he was not able to do that. He said that the gypsy cars were fully booked and not available anymore. Instead we could take a canter. He offered to give us the money back if we don't want that. I asked for the money back as other canter tours were like half the price. In the end he did not respond to any messages anymore and we only got part of the money back.

We booked the Jeep safari, they told us it was not available very close to the date and that we would have to go on the Canter transport, arguing there was no difference, but it seems quite evident to me that there is a difference between going on a safari with 2-3 more people or 20. Right?
Two days before they also said that there would be no hotel pickup and drop, when it's clearly stated on the list of things that are included. And they could have warned us 3 weeks earlier when I booked, because the hotel name was in the booking details. Very very bad. They don't give you what they promise.
What surprises me the most is that Tripadvisor doesn't offer any support when tour operators are so deceptive. Very bad for you as well, Tripadvisor. I'll never book anything ever again.

WARNING, do not use this company for this trip. I booked a gypsy with pick up from my hotel. I got a WhatsApp message the next day saying that the safari would not be in a gypsy and I would have to make my own way to the park entrance. I took the option of a full refund but have only received $82 out of $128 paid. Book through your hotel or direct with the park only

This is a total tourist trap. I detoured off my golden triangle for this and had limited expectations. But what made it worse from the start, I bought this voucher on Viator and it said pick up and drop off included for the price and I was able to pick my hotel from the drop down list. Then they messaged me and said my hotel is too far and I would have to pay extra for pick up and drop off. Wait but you said it was included. Then they changed the pick up time to an hour earlier. So I am up and ready for 5:30am driver still doesn’t come until 6am. Open safari jeep, no seat belts. Long drive to Zone 10, you don’t get to pick your zone and no zones mentioned in Viator. We saw no tigers on our apparent “hunt” for them. But I knew it was as a slim chance of spotting a tiger. Some other wild life and the scenes were nice. Brace yourself for a bumpy ride. The bonus got mud all over me from the tires spinning when we exited. I would have skipped this activity or gone with a cheaper option if I knew better.

Booked last minute so only zone 6 available. Driver was quite hectic when driving through the town... but then drove well within the park. Most of the tour in hindi with some English translation. Saw some cool animals but no tigers.

It was evident that our guide and driver were enthusiastically seeking to find a tiger. None to be seen, but many other animals were seen. Very exciting!

One of the best places to see Tigers, nature's beauty is also class. Really great place to explore wild life in India. We got to spot tigers in both safaris. Beautiful experience of witnessing the tiger and the leopard in the same day, make sure you book your Safari in advance.
