Half Day Afternoon Angler Charter

Had a great afternoon with Captain Gaige and First Mate Bo. We managed to catch a beautiful Blue Marlin with just 15 minutes left of our trip! Weather was amazing. The boat was clean and comfortable and we had no complaints whatsoever. I would absolutely recommend you fish with them.

Gaige and Bo were friendly and seemed knowledgeable. It was, however, very disappointing not catching anything. Not even a bite. I feel that Gaige and Bo could have tried different lures to try for different fish. I know that wildlife can be unpredictable but it's hard to believe there isn't anything in the ocean to catch over 4 hours of trolling. It essentially was a very expensive boat ride.

Had a great time out on the boat with Gaige and his crew. Great guys and great to chat with. Beautiful day off the coast and would love to go out again.

Gaige and Ryan took us out for an afternoon half day in search of some marlin. They did not disappoint. We hooked 3 at once and landed a striped marlin. After that, the kiddo got sea sick so we had to make our way back. Well worth the trip. Would book again, no question.

Captain Gaige was very professional and accommodating. While we didn’t have any luck with the Ono he went out of his way to make sure our boys caught some fish. Deck hand Bo was very patient and answered all of our questions. Looking forward to booking again.

Fantastic half day with Captain Shawn & Sawyer! The kids caught two Mahi Mahi and two Ono which was great since each kid was able to reel in a fish on their own. The flexibility and willingness of Kona Cowboy to ensure we had success made the day one we will never forget. We highly recommend and would book another trip with Kona Cowboy Fishing without a doubt.

Captain Shawn and Sawyer were great! We had a miscommunications up front, we showed up with 6 people (two dads and four teens) and didn't realize the max size is 4. This was our bad and Shawn was accommodating and allowed us to continue with the charter. We started our charter fishing for large game fish, and when we had an Ono chasing, Shawn and Sawyer changed over all of the gear to focus on Mahi Mahi and Ono to increase our chances of success. I really appreciate their flexibility and understanding that we were out to catch fish and have the experience and not just try and catch a giant Marlin (which I am sure they are great at that as well). In the end each of the teens reeled in a beautiful fish that they will never forget. Five stars for flexibility and understanding what was important to us and tailoring the experience. Next time we are in the area, I won't hesitate to do a full day charter with Shawn.

I first have to say, I’ve never met a captain so determined to get us on the fish! Even on a half day charter jet was constantly changing lures, trying new spots, and doing al one could to find the fish. Shawn’s knowledge of the area and fishing is second to none and my only regret is not finding him sooner! The mate on board was super helpful, kind and a blast to talk to. Unreal team they made. I will be back for more trips in the future. Book with Kona Cowboy and you won’t be disappointed!

Amazing day out on the water. Caught a 225-250 lb blue marlin, once in a lifetime experience for me. Captain Shawn and deckhand Beau are two great guys also! Highly recommend for catching big fish!
