Stop At: El Zarzal, Carrera 65 No. 74 – 75 Local 142 Multicentro, El Progreso, Castilla, Medellín, Antioquia, Colombia

1) After being picked up in a comfortable and private transportation, we'll start driving up the Andes mountains, where we start seeing the city from a higher point every time, just expanding in front of our eyes, accompanied by the Andes mountain range like it's cuddling Medellín.

Our first stop is the beautiful "Zarzal Bar" typical rest stop, one of the most famous "Miradores" of the city, where we get to see Medellín and all its surroundings from the highest part of the city, locals love to come here and hang out, with their couples, family and friends.

We'll have our traditional and delicious "CHOCOLATE WITH CHEESE", In this traditional Colombian treat, a piece of mild, fresh cheese is paired with a hot and delicious dark chocolate. The cheese and chocolate are typically served side by side or layered together. The contrast between the creamy, slightly salty cheese and the sweet chocolate creates a unique flavor experience that many Colombians love!!

Duration: 40 minutes

We''ll have also "PATACONES CON HOGAO", is a Colombian dish that combines two beloved elements of Colombian cuisine: patacones and Hoga'o (Green plantains with toppings).

The plantains are peeled, sliced into thick rounds, fried until golden and crispy, then they're flattened like a tortilla, and then, we add the different toppings, usually pulled beef or chicken, or both. The result is a delicious snack or side dish with a crispy exterior and a soft, creamy interior, accompanied our flavorful protein on top.

Stop At: Parque de Sabaneta, Carrera 46 # 75 Sur 36, Sabaneta 055450 Colombia

3) After Zarzal, we'll drive to our second stop, the most populated city of Colombia, Sabaneta, we'll drive through its local streets and visit its beautiful colorful park, we'll be greeted by the delightful blend of natural beauty and urban charm.

The park offers a tranquil escape where friendly locals love sitting and chatting, admiring vibrant flowers, plants and trees, and relax by the soothing fountain, here, we'll enjoy some delicious "BUÑUELOS", a cherished Colombian treat that you'll find all year, but particularly around Christmas time. These delightful deep-fried dough balls are made from a simple yet delicious mixture of flour, eggs, cheese (typically queso costeño). The dough is shaped into small balls and fried until golden brown and crispy on the outside, while remaining soft and fluffy on the inside.

We'll also try here our delicious "AREPA DE CHOCOLO", enjoying like a real local, just sitting and observing the magical vibe of the city.

Duration: 1 hour

We'll also try our delicious "CHORIZO", holds a special place in the city's culinary scene, revered for its unique flavors. Made from a blend of ground pork seasoned with a mixture of local spices.

We can't miss a shot of our most traditional drinks, "AGUARDIENTE ANTIOQUEÑO", a liquorish drink with an essence of anis flavored tones, it's the favorite drink of our region, perfect for exalting Colombians passion for gathering up, dancing and partying.

Our next snack, is one of our most famous desserts, we'll have the crunchy and flavorful "OBLEA", a beloved Colombian dessert that have been enjoyed for generations on different regions. These thin, crispy wafers are made from a delicious batter consisting of wheat flour and cornstarch, which is cooked on a hot griddle until golden brown and crispy. Obleas are typically round in shape and come in pairs, sandwiching a sweet filling between them. Common fillings include arequipe, grated cheese, whipped cream or fruits.

Stop At: The Eight Wonder Bar, Cra 32B # 63B sur - 33, Sector, La Bahia, Las Lomitas, La Bahia, La Doctora, Las Lomitas, Sabaneta, Antioquia, Colombia

3) Our third stop would be the magical and most famous local restaurant in Sabaneta called "THE EIGHT WONDER", just a few minutes away from the main square, high above in the mountains, this restaurant offers a vantage point to witness the city's nocturnal transformation. We'll have some delicious "EMPANADAS", your senses will be treated to the spectacle of Medellín's magical scenery and shimmering skyline below. We took this tour since we wanted to visit some viewpoints around Medellin, we heard this city has crazy scenery and beautiful mountains, and we really wanted to explore the food culture as well. We were blown away, the viewpoints were amazing, you can really absorb how big the city is from the different sites. Our guide Diego was friendly and knowledgeable, it was like taking a tour with an old friend. The food was incredible, so many flavors!!! the patacones, the chocolate with cheese, the arepa de Choclo, the buñuelo and oblea were our favorite, although all the other bites were delicious, Colombia really has a diverse and fantastic gastronomy, the shot of Aguardiente was the highlight in a little local and colorful tavern, we even took a bottle for the night, we had so much food we didn’t even had to eat dinner. Very fun and completely recommended!!

We enjoyed our trip immensely. Even though we had a down pour of rain, our guide Laura still gave us a great tour of the city views. Laura was knowledgeable and friendly. We absolutely enjoyed having Laura as our guide. We took the evening trip as we wanted to see the city lights. I would highly recommend this tour. The food we ate was delicious.

The food was very underwhelming, past food tours provided more substantial offerings that would suffice as dinner. The last stop for empanadas we had to request, our guide was not going to provide, he advise location was closed. Tour did not offer a good value at $75US per person.
