We had an absolutely fantastic canoe trip with Nils from Paddle Devon. Me and the kids aged 10 and 14 did a half day tour from Totnes and enjoyed every second. Nils was super helpful and knowledgable and really great company too! We saw a seal and lots of different birds and stopped off at a pretty little village for ice cream. The perfect trip. Will be back. 10/10. Thanks Paddle Devon 🛶❤️✨

Have done many trips with Paddle Devon and Nils. The trips are always professionally run and always great fun. I started white water Kayaking with Nils 2 years ago and was pretty apprehensive. Nils soon showed me the ropes and now we paddle bigger and bigger rivers. Love it!!!

As a couple we went on the estuary trip and had a lovely time! We felt very safe and relaxed in Nils' company. There was two other couples on the trip, so a very nice group size. On the trip we saw seals, herons and kingfishers, and more. We had a beautiful sunny day for it, and had a nice pit stop halfway. Highly recommend!

Booked this as an alternative to kayaking as I wasn't sure my 12 year old was up to it and so glad we did. Arrived at 9am for a short induction from the charismatic Nils, who led a group of 20 or so in five canoes on a serene trip up the Dart on a beautifully still, summer morning. We saw kingfishers and plenty of other bird life, and were unlucky not to see seals. The water was crisp and clear and many swam, before we pulled over for a mini-picnic with hot chocolate and ginger nut biscuits. Nils talked to everyone all the way, and the pace and atmosphere was perfect.

A really brilliant afternoon! Clear instructions of where to meet and what to bring. Nils led the group so well enabling a disabled participant and children in the group to all have a wonderful afternoon. We saw seals, a Kingfisher, and a Heron and the river was just lovely! Definitely recommend!

We had a fantastic half day out with Nils and his team. The welcome and instruction at the start were friendly, clear and informative, so you already felt like you knew a bit before even getting into your kayak! Launch was easy from the end of the slip way, and then we were off! Along the most beautiful stretch of the river Dart. We saw egrets, heron, geese and a friendly seal. Nils is a fantastic guide and kept an eye on us at all times, whilst also letting us paddle our own canoe! He told us a bit about the local landmarks along the way. When we stopped for a picnic by the riverside at the Stoke Gabriel pontoon, it was very relaxing to look across the river and chat. We then paddled back, with a bit of wind and the paddle steamer just to add excitement along the way! Nils explained how to paddle into the wind and steer away from passing rowers. A wonderful experience in a beautiful place, with a professional and calm instructor and guide in Nils. We came away feeling more confident about paddling and having had a really lovely experience. If you are in or near Totnes, go and do this.

A nice hour spent. For confident boarders, I'd recommend going down stream (far more picturesque) as opposed to up stream towards the town. This is in part due to if you fall in under the bridge, there aren't as many people in the beer garden to watch your fall from grace... Good times all round!
