Stop At: Lion and Safari Park, R512 Pelindaba Rd, Broederstroom, Madibeng 0240 South Africa
After pick-ups, we make our way to the Lion & Safari Park, located north of Johannesburg in The Cradle of Humankind. After a brief safety talk, you’re taken on a 2-hour game drive in the predator enclosure in a specialised open safari vehicle.
Return to the main centre to spend some time watching the young lion cubs and other animals.
You can buy something to eat and drink at the Wetlands Restaurant (own cost) and the youngsters can play safely in the supervised kids’ playground.
Pop into the 5 Dome Shopping Experience for a holiday shopping spree. You’ll find a wide range of locally-sourced African arts and crafts, jewellery, clothing and home-ware.
After a lovely time at the safari park, your guide drops you back at your accommodation in Johannesburg.

I had a terrific time on this half day tour from Johannesburg. Pick-up from my accommodation was punctual, and communicated the evening prior. The driver was extremely professional and friendly!
After picking up other guests, we proceeded to drive the 1 hour to the Lion Park. Upon arrival, the guide secured the safari tickets and we were on our way! Our safari began at 9:30am and finished around 11:30am. It was fantastic! There are never any guarantees with wildlife, but the animals were all very active during our visit! I particularly loved seeing the different enclosures of lions, the giraffes, and the hyenas! I had a wonderful time at the Lion Park.
The driver gave us a bit of free time at the Lion Park prior to driving back to Johannesburg with drop-off at our respective accommodation. The Lion Park is well equipped with two restaurants on site, little shops to buy cold drinks and snacks, and the opportunity to see other animals in their enclosures. There are clean modern toilets on site also, and other amenities such as a children’s playground, information centre and many souvenir shops!
We arrived back in Johannesburg around 1:30pm as promised, and I was taken straight to the airport to catch my evening flight (the tour operator graciously agreed to do this instead of dropping me back off at my hotel nearby the airport, saving me time and the hassle). Hotel pick-up and drop-off were included in the cost of my tour, as were all entrance fees.
Terrific operator and a fantastic half day tour! I really enjoyed it! Thank you very much - I had a very enjoyable day.

Unexpected layover in Johannesburg led to find this trip at the last minute. Was skeptical at how easy it was to book and at how high it was rated. But the communication through TripAdvisor and WhatsApp was great, and the pick up from the hotel was on time and setting us up for trip was perfect. Our driver was friendly, telling us many things about South Africa as we were driving. He gave us great instructions when at the Lion park that helped us get the best seats on the truck. The tour was wonderful - tour guides very knowledgeable friendly and informative. Ended with the lions - have never been that close to them before, there were 3 groups of them to see, and they were beautiful. Less active because they had been fed 2 days prior, but still worthwhile to see them. Never good to miss a connecting flight, but this trip made it worth it. Lived up to everything that was advertised.

Our student group had a great time. Cosmos was our guide and he was wonderful! We had a delay in arriving to our tour and Cosmos was very patient and accommodated us by shortening our tour. He was great! Thank you for a terrific experience.

A wonderful tour. For a "mini" safari we saw a lot of animals and were very close to them. Our driver was top, we spent magical moments.

This is the best safari park that we have ever been to. So many animals and so much space for them to roam about. We had the best guide - Dusty, she was so much fun and extremely knowledgeable. We saw so many lions, cheetas, leopards, giraffes, wildebeest, impalas, spotted and striped hyenas and wild dogs. We were so lucky to be there for feeding time. It was such an honour. A make lion lay right next to our van whilst eating- unbelievable.
The transfer from our hotel was also very professional. Our driver cosmo was so informative and friendly.
All in all a fantastic day. Would highly recommend

This is the best safari park that we have ever been to. So many animals and so much space for them. We had the best guide - Dusty, she was so much fun and extremely knowledgeable. We were so lucky to have gone at feeding time which only happens every 5 days or so. We saw so many lions, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes, wildebeest, impalas, spotted and striped hyenas and wild dogs. Feeding time with the lions was an absolute honour. A male lion lay right next to our van whilst eating- unbelievable.

The tour was really good, Brynon (drivr) was excellent and accomodating. He made all the guests get to know each other which made everyone more comfortable. He also explained key landmarks that we went past even on our way to the lion park. He was amazing! The tour guide during the safari tour was also great. He was hilarious with his jokes and gave us a really enjoyable and pleasant tour. Overall 10/10 experience.
