This wonderful Colorado River float trip is a gently flowing section that is inviting to all ages. You’ll encounter a few small rapids as the Colorado River winds through the Gore Range and Mountain Ranchland. This is a relaxing day with time to sunbathe, swim or just relax and enjoy the day on your Colorado River rafting trip. The Colorado float half day trip is available two departures per day. This trip departs from our Kremmling Outpost, where you will check in and load an AVA vehicle for the 30-minute drive to the Colorado River. We run from Pumphouse Recreation Area to Radium on this trip.

Listen as your guide provides fascinating history and stories about the surrounding area and points out the historic mining cabins scattered along the riverside. Look for the natural hot spring nestled along the river’s bank and keep an eye out for the many birds and animals that are abundant in the area.  The occasional passenger train will rumble by as sunbathe, slip into the river for a quick swim, or just relax on the raft. Cliff jumping is also an available option with cliff heights ranging from five to twenty-five feet. Don't miss your chance to see some of Colorado most beautiful wildlife while floating through the painted canyon walls.

Guide & staff are knowledgeable and accommodative. The highlights of it all are the everchanging rapids and the few splashes along the way down the river.

Great family experience! We took my daughter, and her family ( grandkids 2,5,7yr) and my 87 yr old mother on this adventure. Eric was a careful driver. Christian was a super guide, very friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. He made everyone of us feel welcomed. Beautiful scenery, we saw lots of wildlife and reveled in God’s handiwork. Highly recommend this trip !

Our host was very accommodating, with tips and ideas to fill the week with fun and activities that fit our needs and budget. With dining, hiking, and horseback riding right outside our door we had plkenty of activities to choose from. The pool and hot tub area was very pleasant to visit through out the day!!

We had a great guide but got off to a late start as they held up the a group of 40+ folks for a party of ten that didn’t plan well and was late. It was a good trip but get there in early June if you want more exciting water.

We had a terrific afternoon on the river with our guide, Cara. There were 9 rafts in total on this particular trip. The drive down to the river in the bus was enlivened by a guide who told jokes and gave historical information about the area. The rain started as we got onto the water and we saw a number of lightning flashes. It poured for a few minutes but that didn’t dampen Cara’s enthusiasm. We saw a bald eagle as we rafted and Cara provided information about the history of the area and she pointed out interesting man-made and geographical features. I was quite nervous at the beginning but it really was a fun float with a few rapids to get the heart going. Cassie was the trip leader for all 9 rafts and the safety presentations, both at the meeting place and at the river, were excellent.

Our family had a great time floating the Colorado with AVA. Our guide, Ian was excellent and helped our three young girls(9,6 and 3) feel very comfortable on the river. Just enough white water to make it exciting and get a little wet. This is the perfect trip to introduce rafting to young kids! We will book with AVA again!

The drive to the river was beautiful and we even saw some mountain goats. The views on the river were even more beautiful! Ever turn showed gorgeous scenery and we saw a bald eagle as well. Ian rainy is some history along the way and answered all our kids’ questions 😆. We got to park and jump off some cliffs…so cool! We expected a float down the river, but didn’t expect a few class 3 rapids to be thrown in which was awesome. Our kids got to take take turns riding on the front of the raft in calm waters and they thought it was awesome.
