Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Seljalandsfoss, Porsmerkurvegur, Hella 861 Iceland
The famous waterfall one you can walk behind. Be careful you might get wet :)
This unique waterfall flows from the infamous glacier Eyjafjallajökull, the molten-syllables-which nobody can pronounce good for nothing volcanic glacier that stopped all the air traffic over the North-Atlantic back in 2010.
At Seljalandsfoss there are restrooms, a food stall and a small gift shop. The restrooms are free of charge.
NOTE:
Duration: 45 minutes
Stop At: Skogafoss, Skogar Iceland
An archetypal waterfall, Skógafoss is one of the most beautiful and tallest waterfalls in Iceland.
There is a staircase leading to a viewing platform for the waterfall and surrounding areas. The platform gives you an expansive view of the south coast, Eyjafjallajökull and Skógafoss.
NOTE: the restrooms are behind a paywall and entry costs ISK 200 / USD 2.
Duration: 40 minutes
Stop At: Solheimajokull Glacier, Vik Iceland
Sólheimajökull is a glacier tongue, an offshoot off of the main body of Mýrdalsjökull glacier.
We walk towards Sólheimajökull, through the valley it has carved out of the mountain scape and along the glacier river it forms at its base. The valley is a chaotic collection of rocks, gravel and sand which the tongue ground down as it passed over the land.
The glacier is unlike others as it is striped with layers of ash crushed between seasonal layers of ice, but the glacier is surrounded by multiple active volcanic stations.
NOTE: the restrooms are behind a paywall and entry costs ISK 300 / USD 2.5, they accept credit cards.
Duration: 45 minutes
Stop At: Reynisfjara Beach, Route 215, Vik Iceland
Reynisfjara, or the Black Sand Beach, is truly a natural marvel. The site offers beautiful basalt columns, a natural arc viewed from afar, troll-like sea stacks and during the summer season there are thousands of puffins which make the cliffs of the Black Sand Beach their home.
We do both sightseeing and the lunch break there. The restaurant overlooks the South Coast and offers bites suitable for any palate and diet. Restrooms are free for customers.
Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes
Stop At: Vik, Vik, South Region
A short photo stop at the photogenic village of Vík. We stop by the town's church where the troll-like basalt stacks and the village provide the perfect background for a selfie :D
Duration: 15 minutes

This was a memorable day! Our driver and guide Ronan was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We had so much fun and the sites we visited were amazing. I would suggest packing a rain poncho, I wasn't able to find one in any shops once I realized how much I needed one!
We saw glaciers, a volcano, waterfalls, black sand beaches- I highly recommend this tour!
The bus pickup for this tour was smooth and convenient, unlike other tours we took.

My family and I had such a wonderful time! Thor was our fantastic tour guide. We learned so much about the visited sites along with so many other interesting facts about Iceland. The scenery is absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing your country!

The driver, Thor, was excellent.
He gained some intel where we might see puffins so he took us there and we did!
Only one complaint: it was a new bus, Mercedes, leather seats…that were uncomfortable. Worth it though! We saw everything we hoped to plus more.

Kjartan was first off an excellent driver. He gave us a very comfortable ride. This is a very long day tour, with 2:30 driving each way plus time between stops. He was an excellent guide who was very personable and answered all our questions. He managed our stops well. This is an excellent tour which would be best enjoyed on a clear dry day. Otherwise, wear warm clothes with a rain jacket and rain pants. Waterproof gloves would also help. Restrooms in the middle two stops charge 300K. The wifi at your lunch stop at the black sand beach has connection issues.

I loved the way our guide told us about the island. I didn't know much about Iceland and now I feel like I have some context for what I'm seeing. He was very patient with us, even the tourists who behaved badly. Incredible professionalism. Give Wally my thanks and my kudos.

The tour guide, Thomas, made this trip exceptional. The scenery speaks for itself, but Thomas was so full of information and eager to make sure our small group of strangers enjoyed our time together. He went out of his way to fit in a few extra roadside picture opportunities, played some fun music, narrated as we drove and showed us the ins and outs of each stop. It was a super, super tour.

It was a nice day which we enjoyed. Our guide, Rebecca, was very knowledgeable and agreeable!
We think that the Golden circle tour had many more interesting sites to explore and we were given more time for each stop.
Overall, though, a good experience!

We liked getting to see many things that we would not have found in our own. Our local guide had some interesting stories and he adapted well to catch a few extra things like horses. Only criticism was the van was hot and stuffy and the sound system had some problems in the beginning.

We had a great time! Thor was our guide and he was fantastic - telling sagas, explaining the history of the towns and landscape, giving recommendations for restaurants and other attractions. It was good mixture of sights in the South with the waterfalls, glacier and black sand beach. Thor even added a bonus waterfall stop. Would definitely do it again! Be sure to bring your raincoat!
