We have always enjoyed the Montabano series.
But this tour brought some of the locations to life.
Driver was friendly and helpful and had good knowledge

Visiting the beautiful town of Ragusa, plenty of cafes and restaurants. Visiting Insp Montalbano’s office used in the series is a bonus

Il Commissiario Montalbano tour, originally booked with get tour guide end of June. Cancelled evening before we flew end of august. A text notice cancelled saying late booking. I have a confirmation from end of june. Booked alternative with trip advisor- this time got a cancellation on the day before the trip. We were in catania having an evening meal looking forward to the trip the next day. No explanation this time, just marked cancelled- happened to see it when I went to my booking to understand the pick up details. . But clearly same company. Same phone number. We went with a private local guide at catania- had a wonderful time.

Our guide, Sandra, was very knowledgeable and informative and the tour covered everything we wanted. The tour vehicle, however, left a lot to be desired. Thankfully, it had seat belts and air con so I am putting the rest of its shortcomings down to having been without work for close to two years.

Overall, the tour was well organised and Irene (our Guide) did a fantastic job due to the fact that she had to interpret between us in English, the other couple on the tour, Peter and Antonia (from Argentina) in Spanish and then with our driver, Valter in Italian. We had plenty of time in each location including time for a swim outside the location in Punta Secca where Montalbano's house is situated. We were picked up and delivered back to our hotel as arranged and enjoyed a most memorable day.
The only suggestion I would provide to LemonTour would be for them to upgrade the vehicle that was used on the day. We understand that there was only four people on the tour but with the driver and the guide, the vehicle used was too small and not (in our opinion) in great condition as the journey covers quite a distance and needs to be more comfortable for all concerned. However, we still very much recommend this tour and in particular, Irene as your guide.

As avid fans of Il Commissiario Montalbano we chose this tour as it combined Scicli (Vigata) with Punta Secca (Marinella) and Ragusa Ibla (Vigata upper town), and it originated in Catania. We had a wonderful day with guide Walter. We got a tour of Montalbano's office and the chief of police's office (the mayor's office) in the town hall at Scicli, which were great fun and the staff really made it special. When we reached Punta Secca we found that filming was actually taking place, so we witnessed a scene on Montalbano's balcony actually being filmed: a rare treat.
