Car was a small vehicle and guide did not talk much. We thought that we would be getting a lot of good information and we did not. We take many private tours and this was a disappointment. Could not get into two castles and it would have been nice if tour operator had notified us. Would not recommend this.

I can highly recommend the Highland Explorer Tours (Haggis Adventure). We booked for the Outlander Explorer. We were able to see many of the Outlander film locations (including Lallybroch). Our Tour Guide Fiona was very knowledgeable and a lot of fun. She made the day very interesting by not only talking about Outlander but also telling us a lot about the local Scottish history.

The mini bus was on stand early and so people arriving before the scheduled time could board immediately, which was appreciated.
The driver, James, was very knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour. There was no dull moment and he was extremely informative, showing and describing things en route that were not related to Outlander, but which were of interest to the six tourists in the bus. He was most accommodating, taking pictures for people, opening doors and assisting a less able, older passenger as needed.
James introduced us to the taste of Scotch whisky and gave small samples to everyone on the bus. That was an extra that was appreciated.
During the lunch stop at a teahouse in Falkland it was not explained to the group that the soup, sandwiches and tea on offer were not included in the tour price. We were told that this is where we would eat and we all accepted what we given only to be surprised that an additional charge was to be levied. It was not expensive, the portions were good and the food was delicious. The service was great too. Thus, we were not unhappy to pay. Actually, we saw later that the Outlander tour brochure did state that food is extra, but the way in which it was presented on the day was a bit misleading.
Another aspect of this tour that needs to be addressed is the amount of time offered for visiting Outlander sites. The time given was minimal and the cost of entrance fees to sites mount when couples or families are touring together, especially given that the tour itself cost £95.00 per person, so people expect more time to soak in the attractions of a favourite TV show. At Doune Castle (Castle Leoch) we only were given 25-minutes to tour the inside of a castle of particular interest to Outlander viewers. That is not sufficient time.
Overall, the tour was a good one.
