Stop At: Jinshanling Great Wall, Chengde Shi, Luanping County 068250 China
Pick up at 10:30am from your hotel lobby and drive about 2 hours to visit Great Wall at Jinshanling. It was first built in the Northern Qi Dynasty (550-577) and rebuilt in 1567; most part of the Wall at Jinshanling is in its original condition with less restoration. You will take the cable car up then hike for 1.5-2.5 hours on this beautiful section of Wall.

Stop At: Gubei Water Town, Simatai villege, Gubeikou town, Beijing China
Then drive for half an hour to visit Gubei water town and Simatai Great Wall. The Gubei Water Town is an architectural replica of Wuzhen in Zhejiang province, one of China’s most famous water towns. Composed of picturesque canals, bridges, courtyard houses, shops, and hotels, all backed by mountains and the Simatai Great Wall, Gubei is a delight to explore. Follow your guide around the highlights and enjoy a delicious dinner at a charming restaurant with Great Wall view.

Stop At: Simatai Great Wall, Gubeikou Town, Beijing 101508 China
After duly refreshed, ride a cable car up the Simatai Great Wall to enjoy sunset on the Wall. Admire the lit-up ramparts tracing the steep spine of the mountains from your cable car, and then walk along the battlements. Then, descend by cable car and take a golf kart back the parking lot.

Everything went smoothly from pickup to drop off. This tour lasts about 12 hours. The Jinshanling section of the Great Wall provided a great hiking experience with some steep climbs and unparalleled views. Definitely put on proper hiking attire and bring water. Gubei Water town was a nice respite after the hike. Instead of the meal with the guide, I would suggest private time to wander around the town and grab a meal on your own because there looked like there were many good eateries. The one in the itinerary was mediocre. Then sunset at Simatai was nothing short of spectacular. Such a wonderful day out to experience the Great Wall at different sections.
