The Jungle Crocodile Safari & Bird Watching Tour departs daily at 8:30am, 10:30am, 1:30pm and 3:30pm. Different departure hours can be arranged for private groups. The tour lasts about two hours.

As you explore the Tarcoles River with a bilingual (English and Spanish) guide, you will gaze on crocodiles and dozens of bird species. If you're an experienced birder you may see around 100 bird species, including resident and migratory, terrestrial and coastal ones.

We stopped here on our way back to San Jose on our Caravan tour. We had a okay pretty typical Costa Rican lunch and then went on the boat tour. It was great. Saw lots of different birds and a ton of crocs. Didn't see any monkeys but did see them on my other river cruise where we only got a fleeting view of a crocs. Nice guide and boat driver well worth it.

A lot of birds and a very close encounter with crocodiles which I loved! A nice relaxing ride. The guide they give for the birds is very helpful!

Great guide, so knowledgeable. Pointed out so much wildlife we would have missed. Lots of birds, crocodiles, and some monkeys too.

The tour was fantastic the guide knowledgeable and very pleasant the end was terrible when we realized uber wouldn't pick us up at the location and they couldn't make arrangements for us we needed up walking to nearest town in the dark fortunately met a fantastic person who arranged a ride back to Jaco very uncomfortable for two women to be left in that situation not impressed that it wasn't mentioned when booking that we should include transportation with tour.

Our guide Gustavo was really good!! Made some jokes and I learned a lot during the tour. We saw lots of beautiful birds and came close to big crocodiles!

Brilliant. The guides were really knowledgeable and we got to see loads of crocodiles and a great variety of birds. The free brochure was really good to refer to and to keep as a souvenir. Totally recommend.

Punctual, easy access to boat, beverages available for free at gift shop, plenty of baños, knowledgeable guides, many species of birds identified at low tide, many crocs seen.
