Aït-ben-Haddou is a ksar (Ighrem, in Berber) of Morocco inscribed on the list of the world heritage of UNESCO, in the province of Ouarzazate. It is part of the municipality of Aït Zineb.
This is a striking example of traditional southern Moroccan architecture, on the side of a hill at the top of which was a collective attic (an agadir)

The Kasbah Telouet, sometimes also called Glaoui Palace, is a kasbah built in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Located in the small Berber village of Telouet, in the rural town of Telouet, in the High Atlas Mountains, Morocco, its most famous occupant is probably Thami El Glaou.
The current kasbah was built in 1860 by the Glaoua, next to an old kasbah whose remains are still visible today. It was subsequently greatly enlarged during the first half of the twentieth century by Thami El Glaoui. Legend has it that 300 workers worked for three years decorating ceilings and walls. These are made either of finely chiselled stucco, sometimes of zelliges for the walls, and cedar painted for the ceiling1. The roofs are made of ceramic tiles painted green.
The result is a set of huge buildings, whose interior decoration shows an important wealth.

This day trip was a wonderful way to spend our visit in Marrakech! Ali, our personal driver was kind, welcoming, informative, and definitely a great driver! When driving through the mountains, he gave us information the entire way, and gave us the freedom to stop at any point and take pictures (he's also a great photographer). Once we reached Kasbah Telouet, we got a chance to get out and walk around. We couldn't enter due to damage caused by an earthquake a month prior, but that didn't stop Ali from giving us rich information on the Kasbah and its history. Before proceeding on our trip, I got a chance to use the restroom, and we bought a small snack (local nuts) before continuing on to Kasbah Ait Ben Hadou, where he left us in good hands with our personal tour guide, Milad. We had great walk up to the top of the Kasbah, learning about its history and fame in the Hollywood film industry. It was quite a hike the whole way through, but he kept us at a pace that was comfortable, yet efficient. We stopped midway to purchase a few things which they held for us until we started our descent. Once reaching the top, he gave us space to take in the view on our own, and take as many pictures as we wanted. Once we let him know we were done, we took our time back down, collecting our purchases on the way. When finally reaching the bottom, he guided us to the restaurant where we had a delicious filling lunch outside. After we finished our meal, Ali picked us up and we began our journey through the mountains back to our hotel. Due to the time we left for the day trip (7am) we avoided much of the traffic that we would have otherwise been caught in on the way back. All in all, I 100% recommend this day trip and Ali as the guide! You won't be disappointed!!

We had a great time with driver Mohammed yesterday. We had a few pit stops so the drive was paced well. We stopped for lunch (we paid) and photo shoot at some sights. Telouet was a revelation. We had to research the place because there was no explanation provided about the place. So expect that you only pay for the drive. We paid a local guide to take us around Ait Ben Haddou for an hour for 100 Dirhams.

Really enjoyed the day trip. Few visitors to Telouet and the site is quite interesting. Ait Ben Hadou is also quite striking. This was a very memorable trip.

Absolutely thrilled with this trip. While there's hundreds of trips going to Aït Benhaddou I was searching for ages to find the right one that would include Telouet.
The day was just incredible, probably one of the highlights of my year. Between going through the snow on in the Mountains down to the baked red of the plains bellow it felt like we'd crossed a continent in a day.
Mohammed our driver was brilliant - very generous with photo stops & was very gracious about me filming out of the window near constantly. All I can say is take at least 2 camera batteries because you will have so much to capture.
Worked out at £39 each when divided amongst the 4 of us which is very reasonable,
Very highly recommend.

The sights are amazing and the driver was great: we had extensive talks about various subjects, which made the long ride very pleasant. The guide at Ait Ben Haddour was very knowledgeable and friendly as well.

Abbiamo deciso di fare questo tour di un giorno in maniera privata e devo dire che ne é valsa la pena. La nostra guida Khalid é stata gentilissima e sempre molto disponibile nel fornirci ragguagli e informazioni. Si é fermata in parecchi posti per farci godere dei fantastici panorami. Raccomandato come tour di 1 giorno, esperienza molto bella.

Nous étions 6, nous avons choisi cette prestation pour visiter Ait Ben Hadou et Ouarzazate, nous n'avons vraiment pas été déçus.
le chauffeur était à l'heure avec un bon véhicule, il faisait de très bons commentaires et a fait plusieurs détours pour nous montrer des lieux intéressants ou insolites.
Conduite parfaite et sécurisante , nous recommandant sans restriction.

Mooie trip door Hoge Atlas met mooie landschappen. Vooral Aït Ben Hadou is toeristisch maar zeker de moeite waard.
Goede chauffeur/gids die ons ook in Telouet en Aït Ben Hadou aan lokale gidsen koppelde. Onderweg paar stops op uitzichtpunten en cafés voor koffie. Aanbevolen restaurant in Aït Ben Hadou (lunch) was niet al te best. Beter om zelf iets uit te zoeken.
