Itinerary
VIATOR IS NOT THE TOUR PROVIDER!!
Yes, this dive is from the shore...but is not stereotypical at all. With easy entry and exit, short surface swim and lots of unique and plentiful marine life, this is the most popular south shore dive site.
This is a shore dive located in very protected Hanaka’ape Bay, which is sheltered from surf, wind, and chop. There is very little surface swim involved, as the dive site begins just steps off the ramp. We set up all of your equipment close to the water in a comfortable setting. The large horseshoe-shaped bay allows us to dive in two distinct areas, perfect for a two tank excursion. The maximum depth here is approximately 50 feet with an average bottom time of 45 minutes, depending upon air consumption.
The animals we encounter on a regular basis are: Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles, up to seven species of moray eels (including the rare dragon eel), leaf and devil scorpionfish, octopus, hermit crabs, a variety of invertebrates (cone snails, auger snails, helmet snails, shrimp, sea stars, urchins), and hundreds of tropical fish!

Had an amazing time in the water! Avery was very knowledgeable about the wildlife we would see and did a great job pointing out everything as we went. He was an amazing instructor, made us feel safe, and made both dives a breeze. Would book again!

The visibility was not up to Hawaii standards but the crew was the best. They were right there with me pointing out many of those elusive creatures living on the reif.
Thanks guys!!

Did the two tank shore dive this morning with Logan as our dive. Overall, it was an excellent dive and Logan did the most informative pre dive I ever had (120 dives). After reviewing basic dive safety, he prepared us for the local dive conditions and also reviewed what fish we might see. The dive was very murky with low vis because of the recent storms. Having said that, Logan did his best to get us to some great spots. We saw turtles, scorpion fish, eels and many other indigenous species Logan pointed out. This is a moderate dive as the entry and exit can be challenging and the Kaua’i surf was new to us. Dive Kaua’i was great to deal with and their communication was excellent. Glad we did it and very happy to add the island of Kauai to our dive logs.

Georgia, our dive leader, was absolutely amazing! She made us feel so comfortable from the start. It had been a while since our last dive. The site was easy to walk in from the shore. We saw amazing sea life, including giant sea turtles, large brightly colored eels, several types of tropical fish and and a spider crab looking fish. I would highly recommend this tour, especially if you are still with newer divers.

Did two dives at the end of February and two dives today.
First dive saw a pod of dolphins! Every dive we saw sea turtles and tons of fish, as well as small octopus and eels.

My 12-year-old and I went on the shore dive and the boat dive. The instructors were excellent and very patient. We had a great time. The guides were super attentive to myself and my 12-year-old, who was doing her first dives after having been certified in Monterey, California.
We met the owner briefly and he was super nice and helpful. He fixed my broken mask, free of charge, and was a pleasure to work with.
I highly recommend this scuba center. I heard praises about the owner from the dive guides as well--always a great sign of a well-run, professional business.

My three teenagers and I enjoyed three days of diving with Dive Kauai. They earned their Advanced Open Water PADI certifications. I felt they were safe in the hands of their teachers Dominic and Jill. Our third day was the best, getting to dive at Kipu Kai and Sheraton Caverns. Divemaster Drew was adventuresome, great at communicating, and made us feel secure while we adventured under the water. Boat captains Will and CJ were awesome too! It was great getting rental gear at no cost so we did not have to worry about taking our own. Doing the shore dive off Koloa landing for the certification was necessary but it would not be a dive site I'd be eager to do again. We would definitely come back!

Had a great time diving with this company. We saw a lot on just a shore dive. Turtles, eels and a scorpion fish! Would recommend this company. Daniel was a great dive master as well.

Unexpectedly great dives. Dive sites excellent for Hawaii, and Dive Leader Drew may be the best we’ve had over decades and hundreds of dives. Who woodda thought?!?

Great day diving! It feels like your in an aquarium so many fish, and loved the gear and wetsuit as well as snacks and guide were all included. Loved the convenience of the dive location. If your looking to dive but don’t want to do a full day excursion of the boat this is the way to go.
