Koh Tao is meaning ‘Turtle Island’ become the scuba diving destination of choice in Thailand. It’s a part of the Chumphon Archipelago on the western shore of the Gulf of Thailand but administratively it forms a district of Surat Thani Province. Koh Tao is a small island of approximately 21 km² and receives over a 100,000 visitors per year, one of Thailand’s most popular tourist spots as one of the world’s most popular diving destinations. More attention is being focused on the negative effects of diving on coral reef health around Koh Tao, the island is well known for scuba diving and snorkeling, as well as hiking, rock climbing, and bouldering.
Travel to Koh Tao is very easy by bus and ferry, the bus is quite comfortable with air conditioner , including pickup service at your hotel from every destinations. It’s 7-8 hours journey from Krabi to Koh Tao but stopover at Koh Samui and Koh Phangan first. Koh Tao does not have an airport and relies on ferries from the mainland, Koh Samui and Koh Phangan.

There was no food provided. My bus chair was covered with ants. The entire trip was also very late (much longer than quoted)

Bus was late, there was no water or food provided and no opportunity to get any. Trip said 5-6hrs and ended up being more like 8.

This couldn’t of gone smoother. I don’t know that there is any easier way to get from Krabi to Koh Tao. The van picked me up and dropped me off at the bus, the bus dropped me right off at the ferry, and the ferry took me to Koh Tao.

L’expérience générale s’est bien passée et s’est déroulée tel que détaillé. La problématique vécue a été au niveau de la compagnie qui s’occupe de la prise en charge directement à l’hôtel. Une mauvaise heure de prise en charge nous avait été communiquée (8h30 au lieu de 7h) et la personne qui m’a téléphoné pour m’en aviser n’était pas très courtoise et nous a demandé de nous rendre à la gare d’autobus par nos propres moyens dans un délai assez serré. Heureusement, le chauffeur est finalement revenu nous chercher et nous avons pu prendre l’autobus tel que prévu.

Le Taxi est venu nous chercher à l’hôtel à 7h alors que nous sommes partis à 8h30 de l’agence. 2h de retard, 9h de trajet au lieu de 7h

Très bonne organisation. Départ en bus 8h15, arrivée à Koh tao 14h30. Bus confortable, changement de bateau à Koh Phangan. Horaire respecté
