We made the beautiful paper & decorated it with dried flowers.
Then whilst the paper was drying we watched a video of the ancient process of the Washi paper making from the stripping of the tree branches to the final product, which was so informative & very interesting.
It was a lot of fun & I would highly recommend it.

Hido and his wife (I can’t remember her name, but she was wonderful) were great hosts and teachers. We made two paper lanterns by cutting the paper into four smaller pieces, as well as two larger sheets. The whole experience was peaceful, entertaining, and informative. The shop is also a little off the beaten path, but in a good way! It’s quiet, authentic, and peaceful. Do this experience!

I was so happy that I made the decision to book this class. The owner of the shop was incredibly kind, and wonderful at giving instructions even when I needed to redo my paper more than once. I was also the only one to attend the class when I went and honestly it was really nice and personable! I am proud of what I made, and I left knowing much more about the Washi Paper process and I have so much respect for those who dedicate there lives to keeping this tradition going!
