This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: La Leona Waterfall, Unnamed Road, Curubande 50105 Costa Rica
Let us know if you need transportation and we can quote you the service with a local driver from town.
We have a private parking lot at our office in Curubande where you can leave your car safe while we do the hike.
Our day starts at 8:45 AM / 10:45 AM and 12:45 PM by meeting in our office located 20 min north from Liberia downtown through the small villages of Colorado and Curubande.
From Curubande we will take a 4WD for 1 km that will take us to the entrance of the waterfall trail and here is where the hike begins.
The waterfall is well hidden away on the outskirts of Rincon de la Vieja Volcano . The trail is 1.7 Miles (2.7 Kilometers) singletrack so together it is 6 km. There are some climbing to do in elevation and some caves to go across. Later to reach the waterfall we would have to swim 25 meters. Once we finish with La Leona Waterfall we will serve you fruits and icecream together with a fresh fruit juice.

Hike has to be done in water shoes or tennis shoes ( no sandals or flip flops allowed ). We swim with the shoes on

Family hike to the falls with our 9 yr old. Stephen made it a joy from the start to the finish. He made it so fun and documented the trip with a ton of pictures for us. Young guy w a wealth of knowledge about the forest, the animals and the river.
This is a can't miss experience!

Loved the whole experience. Axel, our guide, was knowledgeable in all areas of the trip. He was always pointing out unique trees, plants and interesting facts. It was an adventure to the waterfall and back and it’s worth every second. Amazing time.

Caesar was my tour guide and he was great pointing things out. He gave me the option of doing a slightly more difficult path to see an extra waterfall and helped me as needed. The waterfall is amazing and beautiful

Our guide Steven made this a most wonderful adventure. He shared an abundance of knowledge about the trees, plants, animals as well as the water itself. His enthusiasm combined with his attention to how we were all faring on the hike made us feel safe and excited. Truly it was an empowering, joyful experience for all six of us.

It was a bit more difficult than what i remeber reading. Not hard, but not flip flops. there are sections were you have to hang on to a rope and go accross some rocks. Joshua was our guide and super nice, my wife and friend are stablility challanged, and he took the time to help them. It was so worth the effort to see the waterfall that is basically in a tavern. super cool
