Υou will have the chance to hear and play the ancient Greek lyre, a music instrument invented thousands of years ago! How are we going to do that?
First, we will take a closer look at the sound and the aesthetics of a reconstructed ancient Greek lyre, learn about the music system of antiquity and play the lyre on the spot! Then, we are going to learn how to play the “Epitaph of Seikilos”, the oldest complete melody (with lyrics) that survives today! You will soon realize that this ancient musical instrument is much simpler to learn than a guitar or most of the other modern instruments, and this is probably why it was used as a teaching tool for almost every young who lived in ancient Greece.

What we will Offer You?
An ancient Greek lyre will be provided to each of the participants during this experience. These are one-of-a-kind music instruments, handcrafted by the world-renowned niche brand Luthieros.
No need to have any kind of musical education. In case you are a professional musician, this experience can be tailored to your level!

A great experience - can't recommend enough. Lina was so lovely! Lots of fun well adapted to different amounts of experience, and so informative too!! The place was easy to find and we got more than our moneys worth :) If you're interested in music or Ancient Greece it's a must!

An extraordinary music experience in Thessaloniki! We had a fantastic demonstration of new constructed Ancient Greek music instruments. Theodoros gave us a very nice round-tour in the small museum. He told us the music history connected to the Ancient Greece and played the different instruments in a gorgeous way.

Dit was veruit één van m'n meest favoriete uitjes. Toen ik deze trip zag, dacht ik; 'Leuk! Even totaal iets anders'. Vantevoren werd er netjes contact met mij opgenomen via WhatsApp, of ik ook een andere datum kon en dan kon het op een eigen gekozen tijdstip. Dat was prima. Lina is geweldig in het uitleggen van de geschiedenis en heeft heel vriendelijk en geduldig mij begeleid in het spelen van de lier. Ik ben er zó enthousiast door geworden dat ik nu thuis ook de lier wil bespelen! MUST DO!

Un endroit secret, où retrouver l'âme grecque, loin du folklore. Le son à l'état
pure d'une lyre ou d'un bouzouki vous emporté dans l'histoire. À découvrir absolument avec Theodoris un passionné et un guide musical génial. Merci à lui.
