Itinerary
You will meet locals doing the printing work with the beautifully carved hand blocks. Your textile tour is the first hand introduction to block printing work and during this experience we will take you through the entire process starting from carving the hand blocks by the local artisan, block printing by the local printers using various blocks and colours, and the washing.
By the end of your tour you will have a clear idea of the block printing technique and then you can try your hands upon a long scarf/table runner/apron using the hand blocks and colours . You can carry this printed piece home as a beautiful souvenir of your own creativity.
You can also get dresses made by a local high skilled tailors on request.

Monty provided me with a lot of interesting history of woodblock printing in India. It was great going behind the scene and witnessing these artisans at work. Great experience actually carrying out the technique and making your own creation. Monty personally has a lot of travel experience, knowledge is warm and very helpful.

I absolutely adored this experience. This was not touristy AT ALL and was in a true block printing factory. Getting to watch the artisans design these incredible fabrics was so eye-opening. This is a beautiful art. The class itself was really educational and enjoyable. I got to make a beautiful scarf and really enjoyed designing it. Getting to first hand try block printing was really fun!
Highly recommend this tour in Jaipur. It was truly one of my favorite experiences!

It was great to learn about the history of block printing and hear about each step on the hand block printing, for example carving the blocks and making the colours. We watch some amazing printing being done in the warehouse and then we had a go ourselves and printed a scarf each. This was an amazing experience that we both really enjoyed and Monty and the team were lovely! Thank you!

Amazing day, we felt completely welcome the second we got to the factory and were shown around the different rooms whilst Monty explained the different steps to block printing. We made our way up to the top floor to start our own block printing and the process was explained in huge detail by Monty which resulted in the beautiful outcome of our scarfs, I felt so much more knowledgeable after the class. I really recommend!

We had the most fantastic morning at the handblock printing class with Monty! We learnt so much about this traditional process and made beautiful scarves, picking our own colour schemes and patterns. Monty and his team were so friendly and helpful, and made us feel at home with a tour around the factory and some delicious Masala Chai. We would 100% recommend this experience to anyone visiting Jaipur. We only wish we had more time so that we can also join Monty’s cooking class too.

This was the best experience and perfect amount of learning about block painting, and getting to do it first hand! Everyone loved the tour (even dad)! The guide was awesome, the workers were so kind. I would 100% recommend this tour!

The best paint blocking class with the best guide and kindest paint block workers! This class was a full immersion of paint blocking and was the most wonderful experience. The whole family (young adult/ adult) enjoyed (and even dad!) If you’re thinking of doing a tour/class, this one is it!

We thoroughly enjoyed this class. Our group of six all found it to be a very enjoyable experience, and it is one of our favorite memories from our trip. Monty is very knowledgeable about the history of the craft. We toured the facility and learned about the process. Then his team showed us how to create our very own block printed scarves. The length of the class was perfect. I would love to do it again in the future. Highly recommended!

This really was a cool experience!
We just had to try this hand block printing after attending Monty’s wonderful cooking class the evening before, and we were not let down. Interesting to watch and learn how this is actually done, and to see for ourselves how the production line works. Really impressive! You get to work side by side with the employees of the factory, and we got a lot of help.
The place was on a remote location so we were a bit skeptical when we arrived, but Monty waited by the road to greet us and showed the way, and also made sure we got safely on a taxi back to our hotel when we were done. Highly recommended if you want a non-tourist experience in Jaipur, insight into the industry and learn a new skill!
