Stop At: Miradouro Sao Pedro de Alcantara, Rua de Sao Pedro de Alcantara Bairro Alto, Lisbon 1250-237 Portugal

Miradouro São Pedro de Alcântara is like our local hangout spot with a stunning view. It's this chill terrace where you can soak up the whole vibe of Lisbon. You've got the city laid out below, the river doing its thing, and all those old-school streets and buildings. It's just a solid spot to kick back and take in the local scene.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Chiado, Lisbon Portugal

Discover the Chiado area and taste Pasteis de Bacalhau - it can not get more local!

Chiado's like the cool older cousin of Lisbon neighborhoods. Packed with trendy shops, historic theaters, and cozy cafés, it's where locals go for a bit of artsy charm and to catch that laid-back city buzz.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Alfama, Lisbon Portugal

Enjoy local bites and drinks of your choice following the recommendations of your local foodie host in the Alfama area.

Alfama is like the heart and soul of Lisbon, with its narrow winding streets and vibrant, lively atmosphere. It's where you catch the echoes of Fado music in the air, share a beer with neighbors at a hole-in-the-wall bar, and feel the true local rhythm of the city.

Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes

Stop At: Lisbon Cathedral, Largo da Sé 1, 1100-585 Lisboa, Portugal

Find out more about the oldest church in the city that is the seat of the Patriarchate of Lisbon. Built in 1147, the cathedral has survived many earthquakes and has been modified, renovated and restored several times. Finish your foodie journey by tasting the best local pastry - Pasteis de nata!

I find it difficult to write this review. While our tour guide was very nice, the experience fell short of expectations. Our first stop was unexpectedly closed due to a holiday, which was surprising. Why was this place special? Because they had nice tile inside. We were supposed to go back but we never did.. We ended up at the neighboring restaurant, where we had to wait for them to set up tables. The food here was okay, nothing special. Throughout the tour, the guide didn't provide any history or background about the food we were tasting. In previous food tours I've taken, there's always been a focus on the cultural significance of the dishes. We then waited about 20 minutes to get into a restaurant with "India" in the name, but it served Portuguese food. When I asked about the name, the guide simply said, "that's just the name." The food was good, but it wasn’t worth waiting in line to get in. It was at this point we contemplated bailing on the tour but decided to stick it out. The Pastel de Nata was exceptional, but the pork sandwich was just okay. Overall, it felt like we visited a few random places in the city center without much context or storytelling. Considering what I paid for this tour, it wasn't worth it.

What a pleasant evening with Andre, our guide. The private tour enabled us to learn about the history, politics and gastronomy of Portugal. Stops at a restaurant, bakery and a ginjinha bar made our first night in Lisbon memorable. This private tour is well worth taking.

We had a great time with David. He’s a native Lisboner and his love of the area shines. We had 10 tastings of traditional Portuguese foods and drinks at 5 different places, and learned a little more history along the way to each. Especially loved Ginja bar, our first drink stop and our last stop near Lisbon Se. we concluded our evening with a discussion of what Henry the Navigator did/didn’t really do - a treat for a history buff really trying to understand Portugal’s past. David was so accommodating. We’d had to delay our departure which would have caused us to miss this tour. Instead he was able to reschedule our date, doing 2 tours almost back to back - all with a broken toe. David was funny, ensured we had a great time, and is just an all around nice guy. Highly recommend!

Our guide, Anne, took us to several wonderful restaurants all unique and special to Lisbon. We began with a traditional pre-dinner drink followed by tasty codfish cakes and more as we wound our way through old town. Anne was very knowledgeable and personable as she shared her insights about Lisbon. Would gladly choose her again.

Antonio was the BEST introduction we could have had to Lisbon! Each restaurant we visited provided us with "little meals" while Antonio relayed to us the tradition of each dish. While we walked through different neighborhoods he talked about their significance and pointed out different landmarks. We booked a 1 o'clock tour and had an amazing afternoon with Antonio! Thank you so much, Antonio!

We met Camilla overlooking a great view of Lisbon. She was excellent, not only taking us to local hidden spots with great food but also sharing history of Lisbon. We visited 5 locations and enjoyed great food and drink. Roughly 10 different dishes including amazing pork sandwiches, sardines, octopus salad, cherry liqueur, custard tart, just great. Our guide was a pleasure to be with, we were all stuffed by the time we were done. A great way to kick off our Lisbon vacation.
