Absolutely terrible experience. DO NOT book this tour. Our guide - Louis arrived in a car without ac which had issues. The car broke down multiple times on the highway. At one point he left us on the roadside for 1 hour alone to call for assistance after taking a motorbike with some stranger to change the oil in his car as it overheated.
The only silver lining is that the sites we saw in Togo were great including the Slave House, Fetish Market and Museum of Art. However, the guide did not speak much English and I had to use the translator app for most the tour. The car gave trouble most of the tour and getting to the sites was hard. He handed us off to other guides at the sites who were more knowledgeable. I did Enjoy my time at the fetish market but definitely negotiate there.
the guide didn’t stop for lunch and was ready to go home until we told him and then he took us to a restaurant where the waitress complained about needing cash instead of credit card even after our guide said we could use our card there. Finally, the waitress was able to use our card and it worked so I think they purposely wanted us to use cash for some reason even though the credit card machine worked.
Overall, extremely terrible experience and I’m just glad we were able to make it back to the hotel safely. Togo is a beautiful country with so much to offer but with guides like these, you’re disinterested in exploring the beautiful sites. Will never EVER use such a tour again.

The guide, Martine, was great! The tour would be five stars if I had gone on any day except Sunday—apparently the art museum is closed that day and the market isn’t very busy. But otherwise a very interesting time!

It was a great tour. My guide Mr. Louis was very friendly and knowledgeable. He is very kind as he puts a lot of effort to support kids that need a home. The boat ride was nice. I had a good time.
