The tickets were a joke. They included only circuit 3 which does not include the upper portion of Machu Picchu which is where the iconic views are seen. Viator is better off not selling circuit 3 tickets because of the disappointing reviews that will be written.

Just like I saw it on National Geographics. The getting there requires some planning and YES tourists pay way more than locals. I understand they have to monitor it, but they get a little too overwhelming with the process.

I booked a tour which was expensive but included private pick-up from hotel, transfer by bus to station, trains and entry ticket. The weather at Manchu Picchu was not good and large sections had been closed off for the afternoon. After an hour I had made it near the end and tried to rejoin a path when a security staff member said I couldn’t because he claimed it was one way (less than five meters long which included some steps). He asked me to stand by him until some other tourists disappeared and asked me for a tip to proceed the wrong way along the “one way system” which I refused and then I left. Quite a good but challenging walk down to the town if you have a spare hour or more.
Really advise going around the site as slowly as you can and taking the longest circuit that is open.
Train journey made the visit worthwhile but more fun had on Sacred Valley tour.

There was no issue with my ticket. I enjoyed being able to do this solo and not with a crowded overpriced tour.
You will have to wait in line at the entrance, but that’s to be expected.

I visited Maca Picchu March 8, 2024. The experience was incredible. The views were breathtaking I highly recommend.
I have traveled the world one thing that really needs to be given attention when you’re having a bus load of people you need to stop more often for bathroom, breaks, etc.
I do highly recommend a trip to Cusco Peru to see this magical wonder of the world

I have been planning a trip to Peru for months, then got busy with work and totally forgot to book my tickets for Machu Picchu. By the time I realized I needed to book Machu Picchu tickets, every thing was sold out thru Peru Ministerio de Cultura.
I searched up last minutes tickets, and Viator showed up. I was honestly skeptical at first, but still booked with them hoping it was real cause I already booked my whole trip around the Machu Picchu dates.
It’s awesome they responded immediately to all my queries, and assisted me in booking some other things even though it was 1am their time zone.
The day came, and I was standing in line by the entrance, sweating bullets.
They scanned my ticket, and ding, my ticket was accepted and I was instructed to enter.
100% LEGIT!

Getting here is half of the experience and the town is unique also (no cars here). The ruins are one of the winners of the world so worthwhile. My group had enough walking at just the ruins, so I'm glad we bought bus tickets rather than doing the hour or two walk to just get the the gate.

The experiece on Machupicchu is incredible! The ruins, the landscape, the weather, the History! All that makes the experience so special!
The not so good part is the system to take the visitors by bus to the top of the mountain. You pay $60 US dollars for a 30 minute bus, that don't even offer a place to their clients wait covered from the weather (every hour rains at Pueblo) or (a distant dreamming) seated. They have to wait along de street, on open sky (rainning, sunny) and seat on the floor or on the protective wall that protects people to fall on river (and everybody seats on there)

Buying tickets from them is like making wishes, which only has 10% success rate. In fact, 10 people in our group booked 9:00 am entrance tickets on a specific date, and they gave you four 8:00 tickets, ONE 9:00 am ticket, one 10:00 am ticket, and four 11:00 am tickets (amazing, right?) Also, they charged you A LOT more than the original price. When we complained about this, they told us to blame the government! WOW, so please be aware of that.
