Heather is an excellent guide. Knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The island is like an ark for native animals. Wonderful experience seeing many wombats, pademelons, bandicoots, cape barren geese and green parrots. This is what I came to see. For others with different preferences there is the historical side which is well preserved. Great experience.

5 stars, please don’t leave this off of your itinerary! A beautiful, uninhabited island with so much wildlife and scenery to offer! Our guide, Ian was amazingly knowledgeable and doubles as a history teacher so you’re getting some deep history along with your scenery. This does not require a high fitness level but does have a few uphill stretches. The tour can move a bit quick but is necessary to see all the sites/animals that you get to see. Again, highly recommended and even better if you get Ian!

The early convict history of the island was the reason for our visit but the island has so much more to offer its visitors. The landscapes are amazing, such rugged coastlines and the wildlife on it is wonderful. We were fortunate enough to see many wombats (several with their young) as well as bandicoots, Cape Barren geese and a variety of birds. Our guide Heather was enthusiastic and passionate about the island and its environment which made the tour all the more enjoyable. It was not too strenuous to walk and the timing of the tour was just right for a day out from Hobart. Thank you Heather and Tours Tasmania we had a brilliant day out.

We loved seeing the wildlife including wombats, pademelons and a bandicoot. The cliffs at the white beach were amazing. Our guide was with us for the whole day and was very interesting. The ferry journeys were fun too. Overall a very well organised trip.

Loved seeing the wombats! Didn't see any kangaroos (darn it!), but saw a few wallabies. Great walks to the painted cliffs and to the fossil cliffs. And I'm a sucker for a ferry ride! All in all a great day.
