Itinerary

I'll have the pleasure of sharing this unique experience with you, cooking together the authentic recipes of Venetian and Italian cuisine, teaching you the techniques to carry them out.

I'll lead you on a journey of discovery that will start from the historic Rialto market in the beating heart of the city, where we'll choose the best seasonal ingredients to prepare an authentic Italian meal.

We'll talk about the history of the market and its delicacies before heading to my cooking workshop with its lovely private courtyard.

In my kitchen you will learn the recipes to prepare and cook homemade pasta or gnocchi with a delicious sauce made from scratch. A traditional Venetian starter or second course based on fish, meat or vegetables. And the most famous Venetian dessert, the Tiramisù.

End your class by sitting down to enjoy the meal together accompanied by an excellent local wine.

Things to keep in mind:
The market is closed on national holidays.

On monday only the fish market is closed, we'll focus more on meat and vegetables.

Fillipo was wonderful, he spoke great english and kept it light and friendly. He was very knowledgeable and took his time pointing out items and shops around the market. His kitchen was lovely. We made baked scallops with fried artichokes as an appetizer, homemade pasta with sauce as an entrée and tiramisu as dessert. Loved the entire day, everything was wonderful, highly recommend!

Phillippo was an amazing guide thru the Riolto market, and it was great fun To buy our fish and produce, and then to go back to his place to cook. His kitchen was beautiful and immaculate. His hospitality was very gracious. The food we cooked was wonderful, we made Tiramisu, basil and pistachio pesto over our own homemade pasta, scallops with brandy and pink peppercorns, and baked shrimp with a butter white wine sauce! Outstanding !!!!

The food we made was amazing and walking the market to choose the ingredients was fun and informative. Fresh asparagus and peas in our pasta sauce, hand made pasta, and a delicious Marsala sauce for our chicken Milanese, all finished with tiramisu. We participated in every step and had a wonderful time. Our chef is a great teacher and communicator.

Filippo, was fantastic. A professionally trained chef who so easily and simply shared his knowledge of selecting only the perfect meal ingredients at the Markets as well as so many preparation tips for cooking Italian! We learned so much in our hands-on class of: making pasta, preparing baked scallops and of course Tiramis! Plus the eating of our work with great wine parings was a perfect ending...... We had such a great experience in Filippo's kitchen, meeting such nice people and making making and enjoying some great food!

Chef Filippo is a knowledgeable and engaging chef. He explained a lot about the fish and vegetable market as we went along and asked what we wanted to eat. We took our time and he answered all our questions. His English is very good. He treated us like royalty, encouraging us to sit in the garden as soon as we got back to the beautiful apartment, serving us a spritz with a small snack, while he got everything ready for the class. All of us were involved in all the preparations. First we made a tiramisu, which was absolutely delicious. Then we had a glass of Prosecco while he got ready for us to prepare the meal. We made a wonderful scallop dish, homemade tomato sauce, and finally, for the piece de resistance, we all made tagliatelle, each one preparing the dough and cutting it under his watchful gaze. Then more Prosecco and relaxation. And then one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten! I would definitely recommend going with Chef Filippo!

I joined the group late because I didn't have any interest in cooking when my wife signed up, but decided to join in at the very last minute to accompany my wife due to a last minute cancellation. I ended up having the most fun imaginable! Our chef, Filippo, made preparing food fun. Even if cooking isn't your thing, I encourage you to give it a try. Good appetite!

Our trip to Venice started out miserable with canceled flights, airport mix ups, and delays. We almost missed the cooking class. Filippo was very helpful though in allowing us to meet up with the group latter so we could still attend. Which was amazing. I was in a very crappy mood with all that had happened with our trip to this point but once we started the class that quickly changed. Our kids had a great time and Filippo made us feel like we were cooking with family. it ended up being the perfect start to our vacation and made the rest of the trip more enjoyable. Highly Recommend!
