Discover and explore deep Berber country in the High Atlas Mountains, and enjoy the landscapes of desert, valleys, villages, and open plains on a full-day trip from Marrakech.
Fall in love with the varied and unique beauty of Morocco’s valleys, mountains, countryside, and desert on this full-day guided excursion from Marrakech. After pickup at around 9:00 AM, head to the Atlas Mountains, passing through a small village where you can visit a traditional Berber Weekley souk (market in Saturday or Tuesday)
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
Stop At: Moulay Brahim, Moulay Brahim, Marrakech-Safi
then to Moulay Brahim valley where you will try the experience of camel Ride
Duration: 40 minutes
Stop At: Imlil, Imlil, Marrakech-Safi
Arrive in Imlil and take a trek by foot or by Mule to Armed, the highest and largest village in Imlil Valley. Your journey will take you past waterfalls and the hamlets of Ait Mizan, Targa, and Imoula. Stop off in Tamatert to take in views of ancient irrigated fields of barley, corn, and vegetables, surrounded by cherry and walnut trees. Your guide will point out interesting sites and tell you about Berber culture and heritage along the way.

Stop At: Tamatert, Tamatert, Marrakech-Safi
Come back down through the village of Ait Souka, where you’ll meet a Berber family and enjoy a traditional Moroccan meal as a guest in their home. Head next to Kik Plateau, at 1,800 meters altitude, offering spectacular 360-degree views, and in spring, a marvelous spread of alpine flowers.

Stop At: Plateau du Kik, Marrakech 42152 Morocco
Arrive at the edge of Lalla Takerkoust Lake, whose dam supplies Marrakesh with all its energy. Take a tea break and admire the views out over the lake
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Agafay, Agafay, Marrakech-Safi
Finally, drive to Agafay Desert and enjoy the tranquility of the countryside. Pass through stone desert, barren light brown plateaus, Bedouin villages, oases, and high hills with panoramic views to High Atlas. If the timing is right, enjoy views of the sunset from up high before returning to Marrakech.

Booked full day tour with Mustapha from ‘Atlas Mountains View’ and everything was fabulous. We got picked up from a mutually agreed point and our day included a camel ride, women’s co-operative where we tried their local Argan oil and honey, hike to Imil waterfalls, walk in Berber village and finished with a fantastic and delicious home cooked meal of chicken couscous.
Mustapha gave us history, facts and humour as we travelled in the mini bus and speaks Arabic English and French fluently. He was a really excellent tour guide and we thoroughly enjoyed the day. The price was very reasonable too!

Me and the Mrs had a fantastic day touring the Agafay desert and Atlas Moutains with the very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide Ismail and professional driver Abdur Rahman.
The pick-up was on time and the activities were fun; we gained some valuable insight in the way the locals live their lives. Finally, the “2nd breakfast”, Lunch and Moroccan tea were delicious.
Highly recommend this experience!

Is male was a really wonderful guide. He’s a wealth of knowledge and seemed to truly enjoy sharing it with our group, telling us about so much history, customs, and traditions of Morocco and its people. I enjoyed talking with him and the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the culture. The tour was a very full day, but it was well-paced with a nice mix of activities. I would recommend this tour and Ismael as tour guide to anyone going to Morocco.

This trip was awesome!!
Our guide Ismaeil was amazing. He shared lots of useful historical and cultural information, and he took great care of us. My mum who had a walking stick was slower and he made sure he was ok all the time. Altogether a beautiful experience to ride in dromedary, we drunk the best mint tea I have ever had, had a super tasty breakfast and lunch, and enjoyed the hike to the waterfalls along with all the information shared by Ismaeil. Our driver Abdul was very kind as well, and an excellent driver.

Shout out to Isamail, our fabulous tour guide for our trip to the Atlas Mountains, Berber village, Agafay & camel rides today!! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience because Isamail not only shared the sights but also provided additional information about the culture, the people and the traditions of Morocco. We had an opportunity to meet the locals and eat wonderful homemade meals. We highly recommend Isamail, he made the tour interesting and inclusive.

Despite the number of positive reviews, I went into this day trip slightly sceptical of what the experience would be like, given the low price. However, it exceeded all expectations and the low price represented excellent value for money, rather than a half baked itinerary.
Our guide for the day was Ismail and our driver was Abdul. Both were very engaging, entertaining and knowledgeable. There were a number of stops at each stage of the trip to provide information about the local people, culture and traditions.
Food was provided at a stop early in the day (bread with a selection of oils, honey & peanut butter) and then later in the day further up in the mountains (a very tasty tagine, with plenty of kous kous and veg!). Drink stops were also made along the way and Ismail provided us with a bottle of water ahead of a small trek to see the waterfall - which was a very nice touch.
The day was run in such a way that we really bonded as a group, despite starting the day as strangers and credit has to go to the organisers for that.
Overall, incredible value for money and I would highly recommend to anyone looking to take a break from the chaos of Marrakech!
Ismail - if you read this, my offer of returning the favour to you when you make it to the UK is very much open! 🤙

This trip was our highlight of our time in Morocco. Our guide, Ismail and our driver Abdul were so kind, informative and professional and put in so much effort to ensure our group had a fun and memorable time. Ismail is very personable and knowledgeable and did a fantastic job setting a good vibe for the group. The culture and scenery was beautiful and was an experience I’ll never forget. Thank you!
