A variety of Old churches, shops, eateries and the locally famous Komoda General Store known for their donut on a stick with the locals.

we are located and the historic EMI building built in 1911 right across from the Sugar Mill built in 1909. We will take you up the exact same route that you will be coming down and we will give you a narrated tour of things. You will see on the way up as you will be doing the same on the way way down we will take you to the 6500 foot level that is the starting point right outside the national park Outfitted with all your gear, full face helmet jackets. If you need safety briefing will be given to you and we will be there with you for the first section. Then we will drive you to the second section and there you will ride back down through Makawao town where you can stop at the famous donut shop Komodo.

I loved the bike ride and the driver/owner was very knowledgeable. I especially enjoyed his stories regarding the history of Maui. The price is a little less than other bicycle venders so that was nice. However, the bicycles were not great. One of the couples that traveled with us had to stop periodically to straighten out his tires and his spouse's bike fell apart near the end of our ride. The helmets were, I don't know how to say this other than to be honest, they were disgusting. Old, torn, and well used. The bike ride down the mountian is super fun but due to the poor condition of the equipment, I would think twice going with this company again.

We had an amazing experience on our self-guided downhill bike tour! It felt like a private trip since there were no other people on our tour. Our guide, John, was not only humorous but incredibly knowledgeable about Hawaiian history and the area. We loved the freedom to travel at our own pace, unlike other faster-paced groups. The tour was reasonably priced and definitely a must-do activity in Maui! Although the downside was the closed shops in Makawao on New Year's Day, it's the perfect excuse to do it all over again and try those famous donuts next time!

Great activity. Beautiful scenery and a fun experience. Guide was a lifelong resident of Maui…tons of local knowledge. Coasting and braking 99% of the trip, only pedaled a couple of times for a very short distance. Sadly, this company is not allowed to access the top of the crater-thank you state of HI.

Terrible experience. My reservation was not there at the operator and when I arrived at the location, there was no body. I called several time and come back to the hotel. Called Viator for refund.

My review isn't about the tour itself, it's about the lack of timely customer service. We were booked for a downhill ride on June 12. Oddly enough days before our trip we were contacted to see if we would be willing to switch dates and we couldn't. Well on the morning of the 12th we were on our way from Kapalua when we received a call stating that their van was vandalized and wasn't operable. Fine, I get it, things happen. Asked Cheryl to go ahead and process a credit card refund since we couldn't reschedule the trip. After 1 week, nothing. Called again, spoke to her again and she remembered the situation and said it would be done. Waited 1 week, nothing. Instead of trying a 3rd call, I just went ahead and disputed it with my credit card.
I'm sorry it happened to their business and my minor inconvenience doesn't compare to the physical/financial damage to their business.

What a NIGHTMARE…Arrived at baseyard to an old cement building, went inside, place smelled like dog, awful odor.
Bikes are very old and rusty, van is old and dirty NO AC, dog hair all over, looks like someone lives in the van.
Van making big noises thought we weren’t going to make it.
This company is a RIPOFF, we only rode for a total of 12 miles, we only did the upper portion 1 time which I witnessed all the other companies doing it twice, which I mentioned it to the driver who then changed the subject. Very Arrogant and Rude.
Do your homework don’t use this company BE AWARE…

Loved talking to Caleb and Cheryl on the way up on the van😊. The views were breathtaking. Had a history lesson on the area before we took off on our ride about the area. Great fun! Thanks again to Dan and his family. 🍻
