Day 1: Saigon - Cai Be - Vinh Long - Can Tho
Stop At: Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City
You will get picked-up from your accommodation in District 1 and District 4. It might take around 30 minutes. Then you'll head to Cai Be Town, Mekong River. There will be a rest stop for breakfast and restroom.

Stop At: Cai Be, Cai Be, Tien Giang Province, Mekong Delta
You'll start your adventure with a trip to Cai Be, where you'll take a relaxing boat ride along the river. As you cruise, indulge in local fruit and coconut juice, immersing yourself in the unique flavors of the region.
Next, you'll visit local handicraft makers who use water hyacinth and banana leaves to create beautiful products. You'll also have the opportunity to taste the local delicacies of coconut candy and pop rice. Then, you'll take a rowing boat through the small canal surrounded by mangroves for a peaceful and serene experience.
The highlight of the day is taking a long boat trip across the River of Tien to Vinh Long Province. During this journey, you'll witness breathtaking views and get a chance to immerse yourself in the local culture.This journey allows you to fully immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the region while observing the daily life of the locals on the river of Mekong.

At midday, you'll stop for lunch at a local home, savoring authentic local cuisine at the Ancient House in Vinh Long. As you glide along the river, you'll witness stunning landscapes and stunning architecture while gaining a deeper understanding of the local culture. You'll also have the chance to interact with the locals and learn about their way of life.
After boarding to Vinh Long, you will take another one hour drive to Can Tho where you spend a night at Bamboo Eco Village Resort or Mekong Silt Ecolodge.

Day 2: Can Tho - Cai Rang - Saigon

After a relaxing night's rest, it's time to start your day with a delicious breakfast and stunning views of the Mekong River at the Bamboo Eco Village Can Tho. As you enjoy your meal, you'll have a chance to witness the daily life of the locals who live and work along the river. The sound of boats passing by, the smell of fresh coffee, and the sight of the lush greenery will leave you feeling fully immersed in the local culture and way of life.
After breakfast, it's time to explore the fascinating floating market, where you'll see the hustle and bustle of local vendors selling a variety of goods on their boats. The market is a true spectacle to behold, with boats piled high with exotic fruits, vegetables, and other local products. You'll have the opportunity to interact with the locals, learn about their way of life, and even try some of the delicious local foods.

The Cai Rang Floating Market is a true wonder of the Mekong Delta region. This bustling market is a hive of activity, with vendors from all over the region selling their wares from their boats. The market is a fascinating display of the region's economic activity, and it's a unique opportunity to witness the daily life of locals who make their living along the river.
As you cruise through the market, you'll see boats piled high with an array of exotic fruits, vegetables, and other products. You'll also witness the lively exchange of goods and currency as vendors haggle and trade with customers.
One of the highlights of the trip is the chance to purchase goods directly from the vendors' boats, giving you an authentic taste of the local experience. You might even want to try a cup of coffee there.
After exploring the market, the tour will take you to a rice noodle-making shop on the river. Here, you'll learn about the traditional methods used to make rice noodles.

After the exhilarating experience at the Cai Rang Floating Market, the tour will take you back to the peaceful Bamboo Eco Village. Here, you'll have the chance to explore the local village on a bicycle, immersing yourself in the scenic beauty of the Mekong Delta. You can also take a leisurely kayak ride on the river, enjoying the tranquil atmosphere and stunning views.
In the afternoon, you'll attend a cooking class to learn how to make one of Vietnam's most popular dishes, the Vietnamese Pancake (bánh xèo). This savory pancake is made with rice flour, coconut milk, and turmeric, filled with a variety of delicious ingredients such as pork, shrimp, and bean sprouts. Under the guidance of a local chef, you'll learn the secrets to making the perfect bánh xèo and enjoy your DIY lunch with your fellow travelers.
The cooking class is a wonderful opportunity to learn about Vietnamese cuisine and culture, and to connect with locals who are passionate about sharing their culinary traditions.

This tour is organized incredibly well! You get to experience a lot of what the locals do in the delta, every stop is interesting and teaches you something about the local culture / business, it's paced well as you get to see a lot but it's not exhausting. The night stop is at a marvelous place, but I won't spoil it, and the food is great too.
Now to the best part: our guide, Tri, was wonderful, explaining a lot, and helpful and fun, and we also had a very smooth organisation as the owner and team are fluent in English. I can't recommend this enough! Best way of experiencing Mekong.

We did the 2 day mekong delta tour. had a really good time! very personal and professional guided tour (both logan & clara did an amazing job!) food & accomodation were perfect. i rarely write reviews, but this was an impeccable experience and would recommend to everybody!

We had a lovely time discovering Mekong Delta. Tom our guide was very passionate about Vietnam and his people. He was also very informative !
The only thing we enjoyed less was the different stops we made (maybe 3) in places to « discover » local crafts. It was very touristy and didn’t seem authentic, we felt like we made all these stops to buy things (it’s understandable of course and was not mandatory) but I think it would be better to discover more of the nature. It was not what we were looking for.
But it was still a nice small trip !

What an amazing experience. Our guide TOM was fabulous, he was so knowledgeable and the information he told us over the two days was great.
We are a family of three, our son is only 6 years old we wasn’t sure if it would be to much, but he loved it. Tom was fantastic with him from the minute he meet him.
We enjoyed every bit of the trip, but the bamboo eco village hotel was outstanding. A hidden gem.

We had a great trip! Tri was our guide and he and driver did an excellent job in taking care of us and providing plenty to eat, drink and see.
We are a family of four with teenagers and it was perfectly catered for everyone. We enjoyed the temple visit, noodle making, cooking class and many boat tours and the floating market to name a few things. We stayed in the Bamboo Eco Lodge which had a great pool surrounded by lush greenery.
Would highly recommend this tour.

We loved this overnight tour. So many highlights including breakfast at the floating markets and the boat ride in the early morning mist. Tri was a wonderful host who shared so much about life and culture in this part of Vietnam and was extremely accommodating. Cannot believe what we packed into two days.

This was an excellent way to get a taste of the Mekong Delta. Tre was excellent at explaining history and cultural uniqueness to the area. He was super friendly and knowledgeable. This tour included lots of activities including pop rice and rice noodle making, a tour of a temple, and plenty of water. The hotel was excellent and better than I anticipated. My favorite activities were riding on the water multiple times in different boats and having breakfast at the floating market. While the food is most certainly more tourist oriented, you could get a feel for the local exchanges. I also really enjoyed the cooking class. Overall very happy with this tour.

Would highly recommend the 2 day trip to Mekong Delta with Joy Journeys. Anh was great at communicating updates prior to the tour, and also checking in on my experience during it.
Tri and Clara were both wonderful guides, tailoring the experience to ensure everyone had a great time. They were also very knowledgeable about the area.
The Eco Bamboo Village Hotel was stunning with delicious food. I also really enjoyed the trip to the floating market at Can Tho which felt really authentic.
The Mekong Delta is a relaxing contrast to the hustle and bustle of HCMC. I wish I could have stayed longer, but will definitely book again with Joy Journeys if I return to the area
