Wow what a great adventure! After a long car ride we arrived on the Delta and was greeted by An, who was ready with coconuts to drink. After that we rode scooters to a local house while enjoying the beautiful scenery. We then visited a homestay where we had a delicious lunch and had a nap in hammocks. The day ended with a long sailboat ride on the Delta while enjoying water coconuts. Not touristy at all, was nice and relaxing.

I had the pleasure of doing a tour with An one very hot April day! The pick up was seamless and comfortable (despite being stuck in a bit of traffic due to it being the start of a national Vietnamese holiday period). But the highlight was An’s local knowledge and the fact that we went off the beaten path to see the real Mekong, exploring the beautiful Ben Tre province.
Instead of feeling like a tourist with a guide, it was like I was being shown local life by a dear friend. Zipping around the different towns and islands by scooter was also such a cool experience and the boat ride was amazing and tranquil without any crowds!
I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience the real Vietnam and not just be a number in one of the standard tours.

THIS is a completely authentic, genuine, friendly & personal experience, where you interact with real people living everyday lives on the Mekong Delta.
You meet many local families, enjoying their hospitality, some of the most amazing food, all while learning about their businesses and livelihoods.
Our guide An and 'Uncle' scootered us all over the region, including ferry transfers to local islands. An spoke really good English and was an absolute delight.
The tour organiser Zen has created a gem with this day tour, highly recommend to anyone who wishes to skip 'commercial tourist experience' for something very authentic and pure. 🏆⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Really good day. An excellent opportunity to experience local life in Ben Tre/Mekong Delta. The owner - Zen - was our guide for the day, and his enthusiasm for his home and his tour was amazing. Got to see the area and enjoy tastes of the local cuisine. The sweeties were delicious. Highlight was the sailboat on the back waters of the Delta. Calming, quiet atmosphere ... a moment to remember
Note: Realistically the 12 hour day was made up of 6 hours of travel to and from Saigon

We did the Mekong tour today and it was fantastic! The tour was very small (3 persons) and very unique. We met a lot of locals and the tour guide was very friendly and spoke perfect english. The boat-tour on the Mekong river was the highlight.

Our day trip to Ben Tré, Vietnam, with Mekong Zigzag Tours was an unforgettable experience. It was a perfect blend of cultural immersion, hands-on activities, and learning about the local way of life.
One of the highlights of our trip was riding scooters through the countryside and the local market. It was a great way to see the scenery and interact with the locals. We also enjoyed a leisurely boat ride on the Mekong River.
I was also fascinated to learn about the coconut industry in Vietnam.

Great day out, early start and late finish gets the most out of the Mekong. Scooters and boat ride were great. Didn’t see another tourist all day! Only 4 of us on the trip and another couple joined for the beautiful boat ride in the afternoon.
We got fed at every turn and lunch was good too. Recommend suntan lotion for bike and boat trip.
Thoroughly enjoyable and recommended.

We had the most incredible day with Zen and his fantastic colleagues! The scooter tour was so much fun and it was amazing to see the beautiful countryside! We saw so much including the markets, local houses and even got invited in to a local wedding! We felt very safe on the back of the scooters. We visited a home stay where we had an incredible lunch, tried some coconut candy and rested in some comfy hammocks from the midday sun. Afterwards we made our way to Zens lovely home where we sailed down the Mekong. It was an incredible experience. Don’t hesitate - just book it! You won’t regret it!! I am sure this will be the highlight of our Vietnam trip!

This tour is outstanding! It is authentic in every way and not tourist-y. The day is full of unique opportunities. The tour leader lives in the area and even had us over to his home for the Mekong boat trip. Lunch was fresh, authentic and home cooked. I highly recommend this tour!
