Your trip begins with a scenic, narrated motor coach ride to the beautiful Mendenhall Lake where you’ll gear up, board your raft and take off on an unforgettable adventure. Your experienced guide will steer you across the serene waters of the lake, where you will view the majestic Mendenhall Glacier, before your five-mile journey down the Mendenhall River. The speed of the water and level of the rapids can vary depending on the weather. Your highly trained guide will ensure you have a safe and exhilarating rafting experience.
Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride in our custom-made rafts, and be sure to hang on during the short section of rapids. Don’t forget to smile for the photographer along the riverbank so you will have a memento of your adventure.
Want to be more active and involved? Ask for a paddle raft, where you will follow your guide's commands and power your raft through the 1-mile stretch of class III rapids. Whatever your preferred activity level, we can accommodate you.
As your guide explains the natural phenomena at work in this scenic valley, you will marvel at the spectacular vistas of the towering peaks and the Mendenhall glacier as you float downstream. Be on the lookout for wildlife like arctic terns nesting on the shoreline, eagles, salmon, and sometimes, even bears.
At the end of your journey, head ashore and enjoy an Alaskan snack, a warm beverage and an opportunity to purchase a photo or souvenir of your rafting experience. Your trip concludes with a short, narrated transfer back to your ship.

Fantastic fantastic, feel the Glacier under your feet.
Booking independently is good.
Not cheap but once only is great.
Informative information and the lookout is worth it.

The beauty of Juneau and the knowledge of our guide, Brett, made our trip one to remember. We would definitely recommend this tour to other visitors.

Unfortunately this trip was cancelled due to poor weather. Assume a refund will be offered as we were only in Juneau for the day.

Jason made our rafting experience of the Mendenhall Glacier very enjoyable. The incredible views down the river were wonderful but it was his personality and knowledge of the whole area that reallly made it special.

The highlight of our Alaskan trip! Jason was friendly and informative. He definitely made the excursion both fun and educational. Plus he made sure we had great pics of the group! Highly recommend.

This little jaunt came off without a hitch and was exactly as described.
Gentle float down the Mendenhall river, accompanied by interesting, entertaining commentary from Zach, our guide. Short span of rapids--probably nothing for an experienced rafter, but enough to give newbies a little thrill. Beautiful scenery. One of the high points of my cruise.

Enjoyed the whole experience from getting into huge waders and wellingtons to actually getting on the raft. Our leader was Kemble. He kept us all in good spirits despite the fact it was raining. I would highly recommend the trip.

We were excited to go & really looking forward to going. We show up to the meeting place only to find out it's been canceled. Since we were the last ship to arrive to port everything else was sold out.

What an awesome trip! Beautiful scenery in every direction. Trent was a wonderful guide and made sure we all had a blast. He even snapped a great pic of our group and made sure to find each of us so he could airdrop it.

The description of this excursion is that it takes you "to the foot of the Mendenhall Glacier "
This is not true. You are over 2 miles from the glacier. As soon as we got in the raft we were told that this is as close to the glacier as we will get. Huh ?
The raft then goes down the Mendenhall river, over a few rapids, winding through back yards of homes... and we even got to see a high school football stadium ! Great ! We paid all this money to go through a residential area and past a high school ! Just what I was hoping for on my trip to Alaska !
The lake we were on was very calm, the day was very nice. Why didn't we go towards the glacier as advertised in your promotional material ?
Also... the bus was late picking us up. The guide had to wave down some random bus to take us back to the docks.
Tour guide did a good job, but I would avoid this excursion.
