We will drive to to La Dulce Vista, where a spectacular jungle and river scenery await.
Enjoy the fun of a beginner's enthusiast meal preparation with the freshest ingredients we bought to make local dishes such as a Mexican Salsa Molcajete, a mouthwatering Guacamole, and the Mexican classic: Chicken Enchiladas. (vegetarian version available) with our freshly hand-made tortillas by you.
We will continue with the tasting of our own artisanal Mezcal (the cousin of Tequila) along with our own brand of Tequilas (Blanco, Reposado, Anejo, Pink and Extra Aged) organically made in small batches.
At the end of the experience, you can enjoy the swimming pool, jacuzzis, green areas, and Hammocks!

It is difficult to know where to start. It was a tour arranged by Holland America, cruise line.
The tour began at the pier. I very young and very pretty girl was our tour guide for the entire experience. Perhaps 5hours. She led us, 3 couples, 6 people to a very adequate, 12 passenger van. We drove through the streets of Puerto V
My wife and I discovered La Dulce Vista on a Ship's tour, touted to be an all-inclusive tour. IT WAS!!!
Starting from the ship 3 couples, 6 people on the tour, with the driver of the 12 passenger, air-conditioned (it's important, sometimes), bus, with a beautiful young tour guide. The road trip took us out of the city passing by the airport on the way, and some very impoverished-looking areas.
Having left the city the roads became very rough, like riding on a very rough cobblestone road, then with speed bumps to make sure the thrill was there.
I digress, the trip up the mountain was educational, if not beautiful. As we traveled, thoughts of people being hijacked and visions of being held for ransom traveled through our minds. Picture a sense in Romancing the Stone with the mud roads, switchbacks on a tall hill, and the like, looking into a lush green valley meadow with lime trees the size of larger fruit.
Finally, we arrived and were greeted by the Tiqula Master, (I don't remember the proper name). We were educated on the proper way to sip Tequila the resort produces their own, and my wife and I enjoyed the Tequila samples and the presentation, as the Tiqula was available as long as the presentation.
Then it gets better. Our small group was gathered together, each couple was provided a Mortar and Pestle and thought to make proper salsa.
It was then time to have what I will call the best lunch I had on our 15-day cruise, using our own made salsa.
After lunch we had time to enjoy the beautiful grounds and unheated (not to worry, it was wonderfully warm by the beautiful sun.
What a wonderful adventure and time we had!
If you have a chance go visit or stay for almost as long as you like!

Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. They got everyone to interact and gave different people different responsibilities. A great day out that exceeded expectations

The Tequila Tasting and Cooking Class were great, however, it was not mentioned that the destination was 45 min away each way deep in the mountains.

Such a beautiful oasis atop the Sierra Madre. So many amenities and the food and margaritas were to die for! A great place for a long weekend getaway which will leave you feeling refreshed and recharged. Bring that book you’ve been wanting to read and enjoy it in the hammock in the Villa Vista. SO relaxing!!! When visiting Puerto Vallarta, this gem is a MUST see and experience.

Took a HAL excursion to La Dulce Vista
Our tour guide Cesar was excellent. It is a laid back resort in a beautiful setting. On arrival Christian from the resort showed us around and couldn’t have treated us better. Nice place to relax

I enjoyed the ride up into the mountains and making guacamole and salsa.
The experience was fun, the food both enjoyable to make and great to eat! The tequila we tasted was quite good and the tasting was lots of fun.

Really easy to find the meeting spot. The van was in front of the big mirror. We did wait a little long for people who got there late. If you’re not confident in where it is, be dropped off at Nima Bay and the mirror is there. The van ride was cool and comfortable. The cooking class is in a really pretty oasis with a pool, jacuzzi, hammocks and more. Tequila tasting was so informative and fun. Eric was a great host for the cooking class itself. He was interactive and moved at a pace that everyone could keep up. More than enough food to eat and the endless margaritas truly kept coming. Really fun experience and would do it again!

This was a super fun experience. Erik was our guide and chef. Once we wrapped up the tequila tasting, we went straight to cooking. Best mexican food i ever made and tasted!!! In addition we had a sceduling error and needed to get back to ship earlier. Erik worked with other guides and got us on a shuttle direct to ship. Viator says they will get you back to ship on time and they certainly did.
