Mon Chéri Cruise 5 star: Unique 2 Days Tuan Chau - Halong bay - Lan Ha Bay

We were a group of 5 adults and we were on the cruise in April this year. Mon Cheri has 5 different boats and we were cruise 1. We had 2 connecting rooms between us. Here are the things we liked: 1: We were picked up from our hotel in Hanoi and driven for about 2ish hours to Mon Cheri cruise boarding area. In the boarding area we waited for about 20 mins before we got on to a smaller boat to get transferred to the cruise boat. All this was very smooth. 2: We got buffet lunch as soon as we boarded the boat, lite snack in the evening, sit down dinner, next day breakfast as well as brunch before getting off the boat. 2 of us were vegetarians and we had special vegetarian meals served in addition to eating vegetarian food from the buffet. 3: The rooms and bathrooms are clean and well appointed. 4: There were activities like swimming/kayaking in the afternoon of the 1st day. We decided not to do that, but to hang out in the deck. 5: There is a jacuzzi on the deck, happy hour (buy 1 get 1 free drinks) on the deck while watching the sunset. 6: One of our friends was celebrating a birthday, and our table/window at dinner was decorated and there was a special cake we got - This was a nice touch. There was someone on their honeymoon too. 7: Service on the boat all the way from the first time we spoke to someone in Mon Cherri to the time we got back to land was very good. 8: They had Tai Chi early in the morning on the second day as well as Spring roll making lesson in the evening. Things that could be better: 1: Although we got vegetarian food and they had taken effort to present it in a nice way, the taste of the food was mediocre. They leave a lot of be desired. 2: The boat is moving only for a short amount of time. Most of the time it is docked in one place.

The staff was very welcoming and attentive, the room was fantastic and so was the food. However: - The area is quite crowded with other cruises, and they all stop at the same time and in the same area. The water didn't look so clean (sad to see plastic bottles and other types of trash scattered along the way), specially when we stopped to kayak and swim, as the access to these activities were close to the engines and it smelled heavily of fuel. - To board the ship we needed to use a tender. The tender is then attached to the ship, and you are basically doing the full cruise with the tender boat attached. Whoever booked the corner suite unfortunately had to see it from their balcony. For the rest of us, we had to see it from the pool, along with the loud engine noise and strong fuel smell (the pool is nice, with the exception of the noise and smell). - On day 2 there is an early excursion that leaves at 7:30 am. It is in the itinerary (you are given a printed copy), and it is also announced at dinner the day prior. We decided to stay in and sleep in, especially as cabin check-out is at 9:30 am. Well, around 6:30ish, they did a few announcements reminding people of the 7:30 am departure, on the loudspeakers, which are present in each cabin, which obviously woke us up. - We booked a balcony cabin on the second floor (which was great as there are vendors showing up on their little boats to sell drinks and are way too close). We wanted to have a relaxing morning and enjoy a cup of coffee, but there was a large boat servicing our cruise that was attached on our side, which would've been ok if it didn't have the loud engine running and the strong fuel smell. This was hooked for an hour at least, and as we needed to check-out, unfortunately we couldn't enjoy a quiet morning in our amazing balcony. All in all, Halong Bay in general felt overrated. It is beautiful when you try to ignore all the other cruises and the state of the area, but there are so many other amazing things to see in Vietnam that I would not put it on top of the list.

The cruise was fantastic ! The landscapes are wonderful, the boat is very comfortable and we enjoyed the activities. The crew is very kind, especially Tam, Harry and Selina ! Thank you !

Incredible trip on Mon Cheri! We did the two day cruise and had a fantastic time. The trip was quick but so worth it. The ship was so nice and the staff was incredible - Harry took amazing care of us and we didn’t want to leave! Thanks so much for an amazing cruise!

This was one of the best experience that we had. The Halong Bay is nice but what made it even better was Mon Cherry Cruise. It was one one of the highlight of our Vietnam tour. The food is amazing. The cruise is very clean. AND the best part is the service. The crew is just amazing. All of them are very curteous. Specially, would want to mention Harry, who went the extra mile to provide us the best service. Would definitely want to suggest to take this cruise. You will surely not regret.

Such an amazing experience with my friends in the boat, it has an excellent service provided by the crew. Our room was huge and elegant, first class service. Pool has an amazing view. Andy was the person of the staff who helped us with everything, he is very kind!

Great experience. Amazing scenery, excellent services. The cabin environment is absolutely outstanding, can’t believe also fit in a bath tub. We did kayaking, swimming all these are very peaceful. Just wishing to stay here longer☺️
