Amando was a great guide! He gave a lot of information on the hour trip to see the monkeys. He gave a lot of information on life in DR and also the different places and things we were passing. He made the long trip go by quickly. The interaction with the monkeys was good. My kids really enjoyed this part and all of the awesome pictures we got. Aris was who helped us inside the monkeys and he was very funny and made the monkeys even more enjoyable. The coffee and hot chocolate was good but there were so many people and it was hot. This part would’ve probably been more enjoyable if it wasn’t the end of the trip. We were all hot and just ready to leave. The hour trip back to the ship was long but Amando did his best to keep it entertaining as well!

Gary and Peter were amazing hosts. My wife and I had so much fun getting to see Dominican Republic on this tour. The zip line was incredible, the monkeys were so lovable. And the food was amazing! Highly recommended!

This excursion i will say was NOT the WORST but just wasn’t worth $90. Also, you are ONLY with the monkeys for 25-30mins. This is really a monkey photoshoot LOL. Literally you go and they put food on you JUST so you can take pictures. You don’t get to interact with the monkeys.. can’t pet them.. can’t do anything but take pictures with them. I went with my boyfriend and AGAIN was not a TERRIBLE excursion but honestly was not worth the money nor the time. You are better off just staying at your resort!! Transportation took up most of this excursion and also was a hassle. Please do not waste your money or time!

Tour Guide and Driver were excellent. Enjoyed all aspects. Gift shop with snacks on site. Nice restrooms. Monkeys live in a natural environment. Tour guide gave lots of information on the culture of the Dominican Republic during the bus ride.

We decided to rent a car for our trip to Monkeyland, which was approximately an hour and twenty minutes away from our resort. We chose not to include transportation in our package, as we preferred not to spend the entire day there. The experience was definitely worth the expense, as the monkeys were incredibly cute, and we were able to take some amazing photos. Overall, this was the most memorable part of our trip.

I enjoyed the time spent at Monkeyland. It's a very beautiful area in the mountains near the city of Higüey. The plantation is actually a talk about cocoa, and coffee which was interesting, held at an adjacent area to Monkeyland. So it's basically in the same place. The transportation from La Romana was unacceptable. They basically took an old school bus took the roof out and painted it with a jungle motif. As a former member of 542 operating engineers (heavy equipment union) I can hear when there is a bad clutch and the gears are grinding (constantly) The brakes were constantly squeaking. I did not feel safe either for me or my girl friend. These people are running a big operation. They get hundreds of visitors daily. Trying to get away with using this piece of junk is unacceptable. It took over 2 hrs. riding in this uncomfortable piece of junk. So i quess this bus was inspected. Right!!!!!! I know that these owners care about the monkeys. The question is - do they care about the visitors? Or are they just suckers.
