This was a great excursion. After ready some reviews we were a little nervous, but this didn’t disappoint. We had plenty of time with the monkeys and the plantation tour was very interesting. Also, we had some great views of the mountains. Would definitely do again.

Gary was an excellent guide! He answered all of my questions and is filled with an amazing amount of knowledge. Pedro and all the others were very helpful and made the excursion one to remember. Truly one of the best excursions we went on during our stay here and would recommend it to anyone!!

Our family of 4 (children ages 6 and 8), had a really fun time on this excursion to Monkeyland. Although we enjoyed learning about cocoa and coffee processing at the plantation, this part seemed a bit long (probably also due to our excitement in seeing the monkeys afterwards. The team was knowledgeable and patient with our group. The monkeys were quite fun! We enjoyed the beauty of the surrounding jungle as well as our ride from the resort to Monkeyland. Our children claim that this was a highlight of our trip!

Monkeyland was a highlight of our family trip. It was the perfect combination of a reasonable distance and half-day trip. The driver Samuel did a great job, especially out in the mountain roads. Passing through small towns and villages was an eye opening experience to see a slice of daily life in the Dominican countryside. Angel our guide was incredible. He was not only a guide, but a native narrator and historian passionate about his country. He was honest and blunt of not only the beauty but also day to day struggles. His sense of humor mixed in added to the overall experience as well. The sanctuary is nestled on a jungle hillside. After a brief introduction, groups are split up to enter the sanctuary with the monkeys. They are eager, fun, and playful. Be ready for a surprise when they jump on your head from the trees above. Excellent for children as they are small enough to be held. Afterwards a small hike to a jungle building where cacao and coffee are made. From seeds to what we eat and drink everyday. Very informative and Angel again reinforces his passion for education about his country and the exports that it provides the rest of the world. Highly recommended for families looking for the excursion without spending an entire day or traveling long distances; five (5) hours total. The bus is more a van of sorts so seating is first come first serve and limited. It also performs pickup at other resorts. Be on time or early. Depending on the season wet weather clothes is advisable. Rain can be torrential in the jungle in the Spring.

My husband and I came to Punta Cana for our honeymoon/first year anniversary. The monkeys and the experience were way more than we expected! It is well worth the money. Our driver Samuel was great and took good care of us. Our tour guide Angel was honestly amazing. You can tell he enjoys his job. He gave us so much information not just about the monkeys or the coffee chocolate and other items we saw. He gave us so much information on the culture and he made us laugh a lot. We saw how coffee and chocolate was made. So awesome and were able to taste a variety of different items. My husband and I would highly recommend visiting.

The monkeys were all worth it. It took a while to actually get to the monkeys because you do some tasting and demonstration for you to buy from the locals first, which I understand, that's how they make a living. When we finally got to the monkeys, it was Amazing. So small and cute and fun. They literally jump all over you. Bring a clean shirt and maybe a towel because they do poop and pee on whoever they please, but it's not alot. Our guide George wad great too.

This is more a photo opportunity with the monkeys than an actual “experience” with them. They aren’t around you unless you have food but the guides make you stand on the railing and they take photos which can be purchased (40$+) afterwards. It was neat to do it to be close to the monkeys but wouldn’t do it again. Just seems like a long day for 20ish minutes of photos with the monkeys

Eddie was the best tour guide! Funny, personable, and was very informative. He was the best part of our trip. The monkeys are so fun and the Information about the cocoa and coffee plantation was so fun for two adults. Would be hard for someone with physical limitations or disabilities by what I seen. (I do have a daughter who uses a wheelchair, and we tried to figured if she could’ve made it and I think no.) The biggest downfall of the trip is it is pitched at 2-3 hours but the trip and drive to and from took a total of 7 hours which was almost a whole day of ours for maybe an hour information and fun.

Loved the whole thing! Half day experience. Nothing bad to say! Was there with 12 yo and 8 yo. Highly recommend with kids but adults loved it too. Very well organized.
