Head to the mystic mountain of Montserrat.
This natural park, with its very peculiar peaks, protects the spiritual essence of Catalonia. For almost 1,000 years, a Benedictine community has lived in these mountains located 60 km away from Barcelona. On the way, listen to some interesting stories about Catalonia and its bounding to the holy mountain, scene of pilgrims since ancient times and part of the route to Santiago de Compostela. Your guide will share important information to understand the heritage you will discover during the tour.

The Rocky Massif of Montserrat has been declared as Natural Park in 1987, and characterised by the rounded shape of its peaks. This incredible 4000-foot wonder is easily recognisable by its ''serrated'' top from which it got his name.
Once you reach the monastery, you have plenty of options and your guide will always adjust to your interests. We invite you to take an easy walk of around 30 min to enjoy one of the most astonishing views of the natural park, but if you wish you can also decide to enjoy other activities that the mountain offers.

Visit the Basilica of Montserrat, house of the serene image of the Virgin of Montserrat, the patron saint of Catalonia, a polychrome Romanesque carving dating from the 12th century.
The legend says that in the year 880 some shepherd boys found a statue of the black madonna, the "Moreneta", in a grotto. A chapel was built on this site that soon became a place of pilgrimage.

Stop At: Sant Jeroni, Montserrat Spain
Reach the peak of the holy mountain to enjoy a bird's eye view of the entire Montserrat Monastery and of the natural park. On clear days, you will enjoy uninterrupted views of the whole of Catalunya.

Stop At: Santa Cueva de Montserrat, Montserrat Spain
Since the funicular that brings you to this holy place is under revision, we leave the option to you. If you feel like walking for around 30 min, you can have access to the Holy Cave, where, standing to the legend, the virgin is said to have appeared. The site has, since then, become an authentic center for pilgrimage and prayer.
From there, you will also be able to see the Cross of San Miguel and the wonderful views from this side of the mountain.
End your tour listening to the angelic voices of La Escolania de Montserrat, one of the oldest boys' choirs in Europe (subject to seasonal availability). This musical treat will conclude your mystical Montserrat visit.

Our agent from India had booked this private tour for us. We had the pleasure of having Alba as our tour guide for the day. Alba was on time to pick us up with her car. The car was extremely clean and comfortable, she even gave us one bottle of water each. This gesture was greatly appreciated. During our drive to Monsterrat, Alba explained us various details, not only regarding Monsterrat but even regarding Spain and Barcelona in general. During our time at Monsterrat, Alba was kind and patience while answering all our questions and made sure we were comfortable at all times. She even took the effort to take special photos of us and provided us enough leisure time to enjoy Monsterrat on our own.
We would reccommend Alba with all our heart. You would have a great time with her! :)

Vincenta was fabulous. She was a problem solver and a great communicator. Her knowledge of artwork was impressive she was full of information. She made suggestions for later in the day and even made dinner reservations for us.

Alejandro was an excellent guide. He picked us up early even while we were in town for another festival to make sure we didn’t have any difficulties, explained the historical context….gave us time to take photos and highlighted things we would not have known …it was more like a friend sharing insights—thanks so much !!
