Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Oshino Hakkai, 151 Shibokusa, Oshino-mura, Minamitsuru-gun 401-0511 Yamanashi Prefecture
Oshino Hakkai (忍野八海) is a touristy set of eight ponds in Oshino, a small village in the Fuji Five Lake region, located between Lake Kawaguchiko and Lake Yamanakako on the site of a former sixth lake that dried out several hundred years ago. The eight ponds are fed by snow melt from the slopes of nearby Mount Fuji that filters down the mountain through porous layers of lava for over 80 years, resulting in very clear spring water that is revered by the locals.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine, 3353 Arakura Arakurayama Sengen Park, Fujiyoshida 403-0011 Yamanashi Prefecture
Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine, also known as Chureito Pagoda (忠霊塔, Chūreitō) is a five storied pagoda on the mountainside overlooking Fujiyoshida City and Mount Fuji off in the distance. The pagoda is part of the Arakura Sengen Shrine and was built as a peace memorial in 1963 nearly 400 steps up the mountain from the shrine's main buildings.
The location offers spectacular views of Mount Fuji in combination with the pagoda. The spot is particularly popular among photographers as it allows for some wonderfully stereotypical shots of Japan.

By far the most visited of the Fuji Five Lakes, Lake Kawaguchiko serves as the main point of entry to this famous lake region. It is the second largest of the Five Lakes in terms of surface area and the second most shallow with a depth of only 14.6 meters. It has a surface elevation of approximately 830 meters, which accounts for its relatively cool summers and icy winters. Lake Kawaguchiko attracts especially many visitors in spring during cherry blossom season and in autumn when the fall foliage comes out in full force.
Duration: 2 hours
Stop At: Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway, 1163-1 Azagawa, Fujikawaguchiko, Minamitsuru District, Yamanashi 401-0303, Japan
Ropeway charges are not included in the package. This cable car brings you up the 220 meters to the observation point and offers fantastic views of the lake as you ascend. The Mount Fuji Panoramic Ropeway ascends 400 meters from the eastern shore of Lake Kawaguchiko to an observation deck near the peak of Mount Tenjo. From the observation deck, which sits more than 1000 meters above sea level, there are panoramic views of the lake below and of Mount Fuji.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Oishi Park, Oishi, Fujikawaguchiko-machi, Minamitsuru-gun 401-0305 Yamanashi Prefecture
Oishi Park on the north shore of Kawaguchiko is a park with a superb view of lake and Mt.Fuji at once. Various flowers bloom on the promenade along the lakeside according to the season. On a sunny day, there are many photographers who take pictures of Mt. Fuji, lake and flowers from early morning. On the west side of Oishi Park “Flowers road", you can enjoy colorful flowers throughout the season. At the end of the Flowers road, Kochia (summer cypress) spreads all over from summer to autumn, making it a popular photo spot.

Not only can visitors shop, but the abundance of restaurants and food stores allows them to grab a quick meal in between shops or after finishing up a long day of shopping. This makes the Gotemba Premium Outlets a perfect location for anyone wanting to shop around and eat some delicious food at the same time.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Yamanakako Lake Side Bowl, 1441-1 Yamanaka, Yamanakako-mura, Minamitsuru-gun 401-0501 Yamanashi Prefecture

We came to Mt. Fuji in May 2024 and had a wonderful tour with Shoru-san. We could not have asked for a more perfect day. We stopped at almost all of the sites listed on the itinerary, but skipped a few due to time (Gotemba, Oishi). Shoru-san knew all of the sites to go to for beautiful pictures and made so many suggestions for how to take creative photos. I was very impressed with how knowledgeable he was not only about the area but also about where to go and how to optimize the tour so we could see the most sites, and see them at the right times (i.e. with less tourists and optimal lighting for photos). Shoru-san is also a nice person all around.
I recommend skipping Gotemba (we did not go) as well as the lake with the swans.
Pro Tip: If you want to see everything within the 10 hour tour limit, you will need to spend short periods of time at each stop and you should NOT go on the weekend. Otherwise, expect to either skip some stops or pay the overage fee.

What a brilliant way to wrap up our trip to Japan! We were blessed with a beautiful sunny day and clear views of Mt Fuji the whole day.
Our driver Shoru was absolutely brilliant and helped us to customise our itinerary based on what we wanted to see the most of, and we were able to spend more time in the areas we wanted to, instead of being rushed, which we loved. Shoru prioritised the day around key places we wanted to see, meaning we were also able to beat the crowds in Honcho St and the Chureito Pagoda before the tour buses arrived. He also recommended we visit Oishi Park, and we're so glad he did as we were able to see a wonderful display of flowers right by the water!
Having done the rigid itineraries of tour bus groups before, a private sight seeing tour is well worth it if you want to beat the crowds, and travel in comfort and we definitely recommend Shoru, who went above and beyond to ensure we had a great day.

We had an amazing time on our tour with Shoru! He was prompt, very communicative, receptive and accommodating. He brought us to a fun sushi place for lunch and took lots of pictures which he shared. I would highly recommend this tour and our guide Shoru!

Our driver Utah was so great. He arrived on time and took us to 3 - 4 spots during the day to see views of Mt. Fuji. Although it was cloudy and we couldn’t see the mountain initially, Utah still ensured that we had an amazing day by taking us to other sightseeing areas. We then saw Mt Fuji on the drive home and Utah was kind enough to drive us to the view point on the mountain to see it up close! He also gave us some amazing recommendations to try Kobe beef while in Kobe. Thanks for a great day out! We made some amazing memories :)

On our tour to Mount Fuji we were unfortunately not lucky with the weather, since it was so cloudy and rainy, but luckily we had booked the tour with our guide and driver Utah, who managed to give us a perfect tour with great alternatives in the region.
Utah's always positive vibe and friendliness was truly amazing and he was not only a safe driver but also perfectly fluent in English.
This day was a real highlight of our trip to Japan and we would book this tour again at any time.

I was lucky to get Bob as my driver for this tour. We did it on the last (=most traffic, most crowded) weekend of Golden Week. Bob was prompt, sociable, and very attuned to what I had said I was aiming to do (and not do) during our ten hours together. The perfect weather and the GW traffic situation was an issue, but Bob cleverly has forged a communication network with several other Glocal drivers out on the same route. (This Viator tour is handled by Glocal, as per its fine print.) So thanks to his being in constant communication with them and to the fact that he said he had done this tour about a hundred times so far, he was often able to skirt problem spots and/or re-route to a better option. He also carefully planned what spot to see when based on both the best route and the time when the big tour buses would either have not yet arrived, or would have already left the site. Thanks to his expert planning, I had an incredible day and couldn't imagine it going any better.
