My grandkids (13 & 16) and I really enjoyed Mount Vernon. We all learned so much about our first president and his home. It's very beautiful and well maintained.

Today we went to George Washington's Mansion. I enjoyed it and want to go back. I want a more thorough house tour without as many people. The slavery tour was horrible. They were very critical of George Washington and seemed to hold him to today's standards. George Washington , although he was a slave holder fought for the freedoms that led to the abolishment of slavery. Slavery was bad and I enjoyed some of the stories but the lady leading our tour dishonored him and put almost no weight on the good things he did as the father of our nation. How utterly disrespectful!!!
Our cameras went dead. We were able to recharge just enough to get a couple pictures inside the house and it died again.
We will go back again.

We enjoyed the drive to Mr. Vernon. Very informative driver. He gave us lots of the history of George Washington. We were given plenty of time to visit the mansion and walk the grounds. On our way back he took us on a little tour of Alexandria and some more info coming back into DC

Our guide Bobby, provided a fun and educational tour through Old Towne Alexandria and then dropped us at Mount Vernon. Highly recommend this tour of Mount Vernon to explore the property and learn about the Washington family. Our group learned a lot.

We enjoyed Mt. Vernon. Our driver was excellent. Our only complaint is that the air conditioning on the bus was not working. It was a hot day and our drive was suffercating.

The tour out and back was really interesting. Mount Vernon was stunning. I wish I had had more time. It was a bit rushed.
