Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Castle Square (Plac Zamkowy), Junction ul. Miodowa and Krakowskie Przedmiescie, Warsaw Poland

After the transfer, you start to explore the Warsaw Old Town on foot (cars are not allowed there). The first part is Castle Square, where the guide introduces you to Poland and Warsaw; it’s actually the exact spot where the first settlement was built around 700 years ago.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: King Sigismund's Column (Kolumna Zygmunta), Castle Square Old Town, Warsaw Poland

It's a first public-civil monument in Warsaw, it represents a Swedish king standing on a top of a pillar. Sounds like a joke!

Duration: 5 minutes

Pass By: Zamek Krolewski w Warszawie - Muzeum, Plac Zamkowy 4, Warsaw 00-277 Poland

Royal Castle (without visiting interiors)

Stop At: Bazylika Archikatedralna w Warszawie p.w. Męczeństwa św. Jana Chrzciciela, Świętojańska 8, 00-278 Warszawa, Poland

After admiring the Royal Castle and Swedish king standing on top of a column, you move deeper into the Old Town. Try to focus on the details - Warsaw Old Town got destroyed in 1944, but some original elements were found in the rubble and placed back at their original locations. On Świętojańska street, you find St John’s Cathedral - it’s the first church in Warsaw and a place where the remains of the last king of Poland are buried. It’s an excellent place to tell one history of the first republic in Europe.

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Gnojna Gora, ul. Celna, Warsaw 00-286 Poland

Kanonia street, Gnojna Górka - these are just some of the many places you will visit on this tour.

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Rynek Starego Miasta, Warsaw 00-279 Poland

The most representative part of the Old Town is the Market Square. Surrounded by colourful and prestigious tenement houses filled with restaurants: it’s an excellent place to slow down, take a breath and investigate the story of the Warsaw mermaid. If you’re lucky enough, you will meet a Warsaw’s barrel organ player and listen to (very) old top hits.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Warsaw Barbican (Barbakan Warszawski), ul. Nowomiejska, Warsaw 00-272 Poland

Defence walls ring the Old Town, and the remaining gate is called Barbakan; this is the next part of this tour. On the way back to Żuk minibus guide shows you the remaining parts of the original city walls and tells you the story of the post-WWII reconstruction of Warsaw Old Town.

Duration: 15 minutes

Pass By: Warsaw Uprising Monument, Krasinski Square, Warsaw 00-263 Poland

On the way from The Old Town to Pilsudski sq. the tour passes a couple of monuments dedicated to Warsaw Uprising, a revolution from the year 1944.

Pass By: Grob Nieznanego Zolnierza, Plac Marszalka Jozefa Pilsudskiego 1-3, Warsaw 00-078 Poland

Back in the car, you see more of Classic Warsaw: a couple of monuments dedicated to the Warsaw Uprising; significant structures like Garrison of Warsaw, National Opera House, and Piłsudski Square with prestigious hotels and Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. If there is time left, your guide can arrange more stops and short walks.

Marcin is very knowledgeable about the history of Warsaw and Poland and “where it happened” including sites probably not covered by other tours. Tooling around the city in a retro communist-era Żuk mini-van, we ‘traveled’ through the beginnings of Polish history, through the centuries to events of WW 2, the communist era, up to the present day. Whatever you think you know about this history, Marcin can tell you more than what in found in textbooks. Highly recommended for history buffs. If history is not your thing, take a look at the others themes offered. I’m sure there is something for everyone, no doubt done equally well.
