We then make our way back, store the bikes and then have our pre-ordered lunch and locally brewed beer in a beer garden whilst enjoying the views of both the Hohenschwangau Castle and the Neuschwanstein castle. In case of rain, we get to sit inside the brewerey.

Stop At: Schwanseepark, 87645 Schwangau, Bavaria Germany

The regular tour gets to see this Castle from the outside but you can opt not to do the bike ride and instead tour this castle. Tickets can also be obtained from your guide on the day at an additional cost of 22€ per person - only if available. Due to high demand this may not always be the case. No standing in line here either.

Stop At: Schloss Neuschwanstein, Neuschwansteinstrasse 20, 87645 Schwangau, Bavaria Germany

Discover one of Bavaria's most spectacular Castles with our experienced guides who are with you every step of the way. Take a bus to the top or enjoy a hike through a forest to get to Mary's Bridge for an unforgettable experience and photo opportunities galore. Your guide will sort this out with you in person on the bus on the way to the castle which avoids all the hassles you will encounter when you do this on your own.

Duration: 3 hours

Pass By: Alpsee, 87645, Bavaria Germany

We see this serene lake whilst we hike to the castle.

Stop At: Queen Mary's Bridge (Marienbrucke), Wanderweg Zur Bleckenau Schwangau, 87645, Bavaria Germany

Your guide will get you to the bridge on time so you do not miss your castle entry time.

Please be aware that in high season it may happen that the line is too long to get onto the actual bridge which, should we wait would mean we miss our castle entry time. This will be your guides discretion and does not happen to often, in which case we take you to our " Secret Spot" for a photo of the bridge and the castle so you do not miss out altogether.

Our visit to Neuschwanstein Castle with Tyler was awesome! Tyler was able to provide so much history and the bike tour around the castle was beautiful. We got lucky with a small group of 7 and Tyler took us to extra / different spots we wouldn’t normally be able to do with a larger group. I cannot wait to recommend this tour to friends who are traveling to Germany later this year.

A co-worker of mine recommended Mike’s Bike Tours and my husband and I couldn’t have asked for a better tour. We met at the shop early (very easy to find) and walked briefly to our transportation to neuschwanstein castle. To my surprise, our guide Tyler gave some history and facts about Munich as we left the city and headed towards the highway which was a nice bonus. He also gave facts as we got closer to the castle. While on the van we were able to pay (in cash/euros) if we opted to take the castle tour. Our guide also provided the lunch menu and took our orders. This was great because when it was time for lunch at the restaurant, the food came quite fast. The food was good and affordable. We got lucky with a picture perfect day and a smaller group which meant a little extra time to bike around and take in the beautiful scenery. The hike up to the castle is pretty tough but it’s nice that there is an option to take a bus for a small fee if you opt out of the hike. Tyler did a great job making sure there was no wasted time. If we got done seeing Mary’s Bridge (Marienbrucke) early he quickly told us what other places we could walk to for great picture spots and sightseeing. The tour inside the castle is pretty brief and done by another party, it was nothing amazing. My husband and I agreed that the tour and hiking done on the outside was the highlight. It was a super long day but felt worth it and the other guides with us were also great and made for an awesome experience. 10/10 recommend.

In 2014 I previously went on this trip but actually couldn’t remember much about it … don’t think it left much of an impression. However, this trip this time was excellent & even cycled it with an AC joint injury to boot! Trip was smooth in the bus and Tyler, the guide, was extremely knowledgeable not only about the Castle but also the history of Munich as well. Tyler and his team catered to our every need and made sure we were well fed and hydrated … and this time with snow on the Bavarian Alps, furniture in the Castle and snowball “fights” en route to the Elisabeth Bridge … I will definitely remember this trip with a smile on my face and pure enjoyment in my heart! Thank you team - you guys rocked our group ;-)

Amazing tour! Our guide Tyler was very informative and concerned that we enjoyed our time! It was easy to find the meeting spot-very near Marienplatz, and we had a smaller group and great weather. Once we got to the area of the castle, we had a wonderful (and fairly flat) bike ride around the lake with a few stops for history and other stories. Our ride was followed by a great lunch (paid separately). We then had a little bit of free time before we went up to castle. Tyler pointed out several spots for awesome photos. We were lucky as the bridge was open, so we had time there as well! With our timed entry to the castle, the tour was seamless! We had a few more minutes and stopped for a special Quark donut -additional cost. Overall the tour was great! You can pay for lunch with a credit card, but you need euros for anything else that is extra. Also Tyler gives you the choice to walk up the hill or take the shuttle bus (3 euro each one way) to the castle. I highly recommend the tour with Mike’s Bikes and Tyler is a great guide!

If you are going to the Neuschwanstein Castle, THIS is the tour you want. If you are lucky, you will get Tyler as your tour guide. He was incredible! The entire day was magical and so very well organized. The bike ride was great and the photo opportunities were spectacular. Tyler made our short time in Munich extraordinary. This tour was a perfect TEN!!

The trip was always on my bucket list. We missed the original tour because we were 10 minutes late. I was able to reschedule for the next day. The bus left 20 minutes late, and waited for passengers. The tour guide was the worst I have ever experienced. She scolded and yelled at some of the passengers. She was very condescending to us. I am unable to think of her name but she had been doing this tour for 17 years and was training a new person. I have never experienced anything like it.

There are no words to express this experience. It was wonderful. A lot of steps in the castle on the winding staircase and very steep terrain getting to the castle, but it is an amazing place.

My boyfriend and I absolutely LOVED this tour. It was a great mix of hiking/biking/eating/ and swimming if you chose to. It wasn't your basic tour that just takes you to the castle and takes you home. It was quite literally an amazing experience that I wouldn't trade for the world! One of the best days we had in Germany. Highly recommend going on this tour. Only negative thing was that they were not able to find my registration (even though I showed them my confirmation and credit card payment), but I was still able to get on the tour which was all that really mattered!

This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Munich. The tour guides were very nice and informative. The bike tour was short and slow, a ride most people can keep up with and the views were spectacular. The swim was cold due to the time of the year but felt refreshing and peaceful. Pack a swimsuit and towel and jump in for a quick swim. Additionally, they will also introduce you to Charlie an artist who has been making beautiful watercolor painting of the castle for over 25 years. Would recommend this tour to all friends and family. The only thing I would note is the tour group is about 40-50 people so quite a large amount of people.
